Gday Wednesday Morning 29th November 2007

  1. My turn to start the thread! Good morning everyone!

I think I missed out on Tuesday altogether. Wish I had really, it was pretty awful. Ah well, today is a new day, the sun is shining - unfortunately, send some rain and thunderstorms!!!

So Bethin, was your package your new ipod? I went shopping on eBay recently and have just received two of mine; a watch for my husband, and a necklace of freshwater pearls with rhinestones. I'm still waiting on another necklace, a PDA (cheapie, an organiser really), and a wordprocessor package which I have been assured is as good as the Office package. We'll see...

A trip to Korea? Do you have an empty suitcase I can sneak into?

Grace who did win? I haven't been following it. BTW, some girl called Natalie won Australian Idol. I haven't been following that either, but I saw the grand final set at the Opera House. I do remember from earlier episodes that she could sing!!! I stopped watching because I couldn't handle Mark and Kyle anymore, and Marcia gets a bit predictable sometimes.

flying from Aussie to anywhere is a saga! Except maybe Bali...

Diarygirl I'm trying to figure timewise whether your sister has arrived yet. Hope so! Have a great time!

Clem!!! My goodness! You wouldn't read about something happening like that! At least they will reimburse you, but &*(&& banks always manage to hold onto money as long as they can...
I do all my banking on the internet, and stories like that really get one worried...
BTW did you actually manage to get your tooth fixed?

Nightmare happy 21st birthday (I figure everyones 21 after they hit 21 for the rest of their lives...)

Joe I didn't know that about milk!! Good to hear your furbaby is ok

steph hope you are feeling better soon. Mind you, I feel a little the same way

Woohoo Csemgr. As much as you feel loyalty to your present place of employment you still have to live, and I really hope this job meets up to your expectations.

Every body else, I'll catch up with you throughout the day. Hope its a good one.

    [font="comic sans ms"]my living will

last night, my friend and i were sitting in the living room and i said to her, 'i never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. if that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my wine.

Sure, I think I got a case big enough for you. But I'm not planning on taking it. It's too big to drag around. Last time I got by with taking my carry on only. I think I stayed 8 days. Snuck my laundry onto the base and did it there. I can't wait as I'm always so happy when I'm there.

Yes, it was my ipod! I love it and its soo small. Genius.

    The necklace sounds very pretty.

    g'day from me!

dar, bridie carter won dancing with the stars. she was very good!
thanks for starting the thread today!

wishing everyone a safe, happy and healthy wednesday.

another glorious spring day here today. but dear oh dear, we badly need rain! the countryside looks so sad. brown, dry and thirsty. people are letting their gardens and lawns die because of the drought and the water restrictions. oh well, we do live in the sunburnt country!

i'm trying to get into the spirit of christmas, bought some ribbon for the tree yesterday. am copying sabby and am going to drape ribbon down from the top of the tree instead of wrapping tinsel all around it as i usually do. we need a new angel for the top as ours is looking rather tired. poor thing, been sitting atop that tree each christmas for over 20 years! :angel2: she needs putting to rest!

my sister is recovering well from her surgery on friday last week. she had the right side parathyroids removed and also part of the thyroid. i haven't heard what the pathology results are as yet. hoping for the best possible outcome.

we have the fencing contractor here today erecting a new side fence. we had the back fence replaced the other week and are now doing the side. can't wait for it to be completed. i'm going to relish the privacy! we're having a 6ft fence. we have a lunatic neighbour two doors up. among other things he says and does; he stares into our place all the time, is nosey and just plain nutso! the new fences will deny him the ability to be able to see into our backyard at all! :trout::d you've really got to wonder about some people!
maybe i'll be able to sunbathe in the backyard in my bikini with the new fences and wonderful total privacy???!!! yeah! .... right!

ok, must cease waffling! have things to accomplish today! i might be retired, but i do have things to do besides play on here! ..... believe it or not! :chuckle

    take care everyone!
    cheers..............

Just got the wordprocessor package. Love it! And its not Microsoft!

Another couple of packages still at the post office apparently. I reckon one must be the PDA. The other may be a pressie from my mother either for me, or the dog. (She's discovered Paypal as well - before I did, may I add - she used to sell computer packages). The cat got a gym for Christmas, so she has probably sent something for the heeler as well.

Alois, I saw them perform that song on the Jenny McCarthy show A LONG TIME AGO. This was shortly after her stint on Singled Out (What a hilarious show). I liked the song then, and I must say that I still like it. Thanks for the memory

So in the world of nursing school. My friend texted me saying that the grades were posted. She originally thought she got an 86 and her grade was posted as a 94. Whoa, big difference. So I asked her to check mine and she said I got a 96, up from an 86. HUGE increase. There's no way that it's possible that I could have gotten 10 points. 8 or 12, but not 10. So I am just going to leave it as is. Wahoo!!!!
Just quoting myself since the Tuesday thread will just wilt away.

    Good morning! :kiss

It's still Tuesday in my neck of the woods. I have nothing specific planned for Wednesday, although I really need to study for a lab exam for A&P class. I am definitely going to the health club for a workout, since my long-term goal is for these excess pounds to continue to melt off.

Take care, and have a pleasurable day!

Relaxing after writing a page on my paper. Freaking out - I thought I had 2 weeks to write but it's due in a week. I'm a bit peeved - we had to do a peer review but our peer doesn't have to turn it in until Monday. So that would leave me a 2 days to follow the suggestions.

And I still have to rewrite my other paper that I got a low grade on. Then I realized I have no idea how I'm going to pay tuition or buy books next semester. I sure miss my grandma - she helped with college expenses when she was alive. She always believed that as a woman you had to be educated to make it in this world. She was very much a feminist. Ugh, I'm sure she's wondering what the heck I'm doing changing majors every year.

zoe, I see you there - I promise I'm not going to quit. Nope, not me.

oops, i meant to quote some quotes from, er, "yesterday" (wink wink) - but i put something else on the clipboard w/o thinking and "poof".

how are y'all doin'? looking forward to seeing my son on the 21st!!!! where is the "countdown" feature when you need one lol - still can't pin him down as to what days i will be seeing him (i have to share him w/ his dad and his gf in other states, and have i c/o that enough? tough. i will c/o that again before the 21st i'm sure!!)

work is going well, i am getting antsy though. i think once i have worked a year on this promotion (i got a small mgmt position in august) i will start doing some nursing shifts again - hospice, or home health, or somethin'.

dad got his catheter out yesterday, he is a lot more comfortable since his bladder laser treatments and they will resume instillation of chemo into the bladder (whazzat called, i forget?). he is tired all the time, that is his cc! and i hate seeing it cuz that dude can run circles around anyone - always worked for himself full time and then did all the maintenance and constant remodeling of the shop and the books and and ... then retired a year ago and since then did remodeling and stuff on two properties, as well as taking care of everything at home for his wife (and pestering her for more to do, lol...)...

social life is basically church and work, nothing exciting - oh, i enjoyed dancing w/ the stars tonite and helio did win!!!

he had to - he is just so charming and tho he had no dance experience he picked it up quick - and that smile - lol

    well anyway...

Honey, I still don't know what I'm going to be when I grow up.

I was gonna go to China on a missions trip, 'member? But it seems it is not the kind of trip I thought it would be. I am not interested in going as a tourist, I wanted to go work w/ kids and be of use - but there are so many hands and they are just not all needed. I believe God wants me to go elsewhere. I am thinking of going to Bible College in Boston and taking a few classes, one on Bible and one on Missions, maybe. And I can network a little better from that perspective I think.

Altho in another post I said that maybe after a year in my present position I will go back to nursing. Maybe medical missions so I could do both? (head is spinning rofl)

I have my diploma in nursing (1981), signed up in 90 for a BSN, changed to social work, then to English, then to media studies. I still have 6 classes to go for a degree. Haven't gotten a Bach in ANYthing yet... Want(ed) to WRITE - novel, non-fiction, essays - anything but poetry, really. So I took as many writing courses as I could. Had I focused on getting the ENG requirements done at the time I would be graduated by now! So - feel better? ha ha ha...

I don't know. For now, I know that having had that 9:30 pm cup of coffee was a big mistake!!! Good thing I don't have to get up too early!
