Frozen tundra of hell

  1. hey, bubba kewl!

we were up in your neck of the woods for the past week. we spent the 3rd and 4th of july at the ramada on lake erie at dunkirk. we then went trhough your lovely town (!) to canada, where we stayed near the whirlpools on the 5th and 6th. we drove to toronto on the 6th and saw part of the molson indy. i looked and looked for a big, nekkid, red-necked man with one good eye, on a motorcycle; but never did see you. we had a great time, tho. i guess it is all in where you live 24/7, huh? seriously, did you go to the "taste of buffalo?" i always wondered what buffalo tasted like! :roll :roll

"the sheriff said, "the reckless discharge of a gun, that's what the officers are claiming." bubba said, "reckless-hell! i hit just where i was aiming!"

Too bad I didn't know you were coming. Taste of Buffalo is a big stuff your face fest with samples from all the local restaurents. I never go, too crowded and too exspensive. My mother, sister and hubby went and drop $40 in like 1.5 hours. Lot of freaks too. We were going to go to Toronto with the kids but avoided it this weekend cuz of the race. Glad ya had fun.

Well, Kewl, I knew we were headed for the falls, but I didn't know where we would be for the days before. Fortunately, I was able to get a lot of miles behind us a lot more quickly than I thought we would. I didn't know your alias (real name), and had no computer access, so I couldn't look you up. I did think of going to Buffalo General and asking for you, but didn't do it. Besides, when I mentioned the "nekkid" part, they probably would've sent me to the ER for involuntary committment! LOL!
Did you have to work the 4th?

LOL I was off on the 4th. We'll next time.

Fer shure! I'm trying to get my Mom and Dad to go back with us next summer to show me her "growing up" hx.

It really is gorgeous up there in the summer. That must offset the winters, hmmm?

Are you the only poster (that we know of) that lives in that area?

There is 2 other people in the area that post once in a while, but can't remember who they are.

Well, Walmart ADN, I'm glad to know that. When we get back up there, maybe we can have a mini gathering of our group.
I've told Bubba Kewl that my Mom is from the Angola and Derby areas, and my aunt lives in East Aurora. Because my Mom will be 75 in Nov., and my Dad will be 78 in Sept., I'd like to get them back up there (my Dad is from FL, all of his life) while they can still get around pretty well, and have them show and tell me the hx of the area where my Mom grew up.
BTW, I've thought (and should've said) that you have a beautiful smile!

Well, Sunnygirl, I'm glad to know that. Are you so far east (as in, NYC) that you couldn't be part of our minigathering when we have it?

"Frozen Tundra of Hell" could also describe the upper penninsula of Michigan. We had to turn on the HEAT in AUGUST while visiting up there!!! Our lips turned blue instantly when we tried to swim in Lake Superior..brrrrrrr. I think their Summer season lasts 4 days....
