Gooooooooood Morning to you all,
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy TGIF and I am not on call again until Monday night.
Shall we say I am going to relax this weekend.
I really have a lot of writing to do and must start soon.
We had the honor of looking after Hubby's brother, in our home, until he died from cancer in February. We only had him for a very short month.
The month was a blessing for us all and during this time I was able to have a lot of one on one with Mike. He would only take his pain meds etc from me so for that month I did not sleep a full night. Was so funny because he did not trust his sisters hahahahahahaha shhhhhhh
I documented every day our journey with Mike. This Christmas I plan to have each family member (7 Siblings and Mumma) a beautiful hand written journal with photos and all the wonderful things that Mike shared with me. It is written in a light humored manner as that is what Mike was like. Nothing but a smile on his dial all the time.
This will be their precious gift to keep and read when they feel low or are missing him.
We have the American Flag that was on the coffin, Mike's fav cap, his crucifix and chain, photos and the spent cartridge from the 21 gun salute. All this I am having made into a shadow box for hubby for Christmas too.
I encourage my caregivers of our patients to try to journal as well. It is a wonderful way to pour out those feelings and thoughts besides it is an excellent way to start the healing/grieving process too.
Hmmmm I guess I needed to share all of that huh?
Have a super duper day. I cannot even put up a piccie as the photobucket is doing a maintainence doohicky.
Stay safe and smile.
