Free at last, free at last...

  1. Well, some of you know that I've been "grounded" d/t a really bad fx. Today, I went to the orthopod, and he is LETTING ME START WT. BEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I walk like a drunk (amazing how muscle can atrophy so quickly), and yeah, it hurts to put wt on it but, oh, thank goodness I can get around a little.

I can start back to work gradually, work my way back up to those 12h shifts that are actually 13-14h shifts. I swear I won't complain about work (at least for a week or two).

Anyway, thanks to all for letting me vent, and esp. Heather for keeping my brain from turning to mush by providing such great tutoring on the computer.

Oramar: You know how on the intro to ABC "Wide World of Sports" where they show the skier having the "agony of defeat"?
Well, that's what I did, only I was indoors going down steps. A spectacular crash, resulting in a bimalleolar fx. that required bil. plates and beaucoup pins and screws.

    I don't recommend it, personally.

You poor thing, I don't know how I missed the fact that something bad happened to you. If I see your name on something I always read it. I wish it didn't happen but as long as you are improving it is good.

I know how it feels to be laid up. Glad to hear you're starting to get around again. Take care!
WOOT! Glad to hear the good news!

Oh, great. So you're telling me I've lost my partner on couch arrest? Man, I feel so alone now. Seriously though, I'm glad that you're healing and getting better. I'd do a happy dance too if I could get off the freakin couch. Instead of a happy dance, would you settle for an extra little butt wiggle when I get up again for my coveted bathroom privileges?

Believe it or not, Lou, I did think of you as I posted this thread...I almost feel guilty (notice I said "almost" ).

We can both do the "happy dance" together when you get paroled.
