Feeling grouchy

  1. Anyone ever have one of those days where you are just too grouchy to be around people and you don't know why? I have been in a terrible mood all day, and have been snapping at everyone. I picked a fight with my husband over nothing, and snapped at my son because he forgot to turn off the coffee pot. I was talking to my daughter on the phone, and pi**ed her off, too. I even yelled at the poor dog. I haven'y yelled at the kids yet, but it has been a real effort. It just seems like I want everyone around me to be as miserable as I am today. The problem is, I have no reason to be upset or grouchy, I just am. I can't even blame PMS since it's not the appropriate time. Of course, hubby tells me I never get PMS, I'm just naturally b*tchy all the time. Maybe he's right. That's certianly what I feel like today.

Put supper in the crockpot, and just get yourself curled up in your room with a good book, and some quiet music. A glass of wine might be nice, too. Just tell anyone who knocks that you aren't sick, but this just isn't a good day for you, for some reason, and you'll be okay if you have some time to yourself.
Come out for supper if you want, and just be mindful that they are likely to say or do a zillion things that might p*** you off, so try to keep to as little conversation as possible. We are all entitled to days like this, but we aren't entitled to make others feel bad because of it!

Unfortuantly I can give my grouchy self a name and it is PMS. However, that really does not help my husband or children. They are walking a wide path around me right now. But the mood should pass soon.

...and it makes you EVEN grouchier 'cuz you don't know WHY, right? :chuckle Yep... know the feeling...sucky. But this, too shall pass....tomorrow you'll feel like a brand new person. Agree with Cathy; curl up away from everyone (because you LOVE them enough not to expose them unnecessarily to this yuck mood, and simply be honest about it..they'll respect that)...and get into something YOU enjoy..and let it pass. It will. Be good to yourself and don't try to analyze it...just havin' one of those days. :stone

I run when I get in those moods. Any kind of physical exercise seems to work out a case the b*tchies . Tomorrow will surely look better.

This works for me too, I find that when I am having one of "those" days where every body ticks me off it is because I am sick of people-even the ones I love. Shopping is the last thing I should do...I end up being one of those customers that sales people write letters to Dear Abby complaining about.

Right now.........I feel miserable. I can feel the flu slowly taking over me and my body. I ache horribly, my head my shoulders. I feel sick to my stomach........NOW for the emotional drain........my senior pictures won't print, so I won't have one for them tomorrow. I'm mad because I'm getting sick, I mad because I can't control my body.

I'm just MAD!!!! I hate feeling like this, it makes me feel like I'm such a bag. I feel bad for my boyfriend, but he understands and is trying to keep my confidence up..............

Thanks, everyone for your replies. I am feeling much better today, and my family still loves me, even if I was a grouch yesterday. They know it is out of character for me to be so unpleasant without good reason, so all is forgiven. I did take the advice given here, and stayed away from everyone for most of the day. I hid in my bedroom for a while, and watched old sci-fi movies, then apologized to everyone after the grouchies had passed.

So, now that you're feeling better and won't stomp me for asking....

The title "witchy woman" is a reference to when you're in a good mood?

It's actually an Eagles song, one of my favorites. Ever since my hubby has been out of work, he has been doing all of the housework. One day I asked him if he wanted me to sweep, and he told me "No, you can just use the broom to ride to work." It stuck, so I got my title, and my signature.

HEY! I'm not too young to appreciate an Eagle's song! I have my own pirated CD of my Eagle's favorites!

Just theorizing that if you're a witchy woman on a normal day.... then we'd all better take cover when you say you're feeling grouchy!

Now you kinda got me in the mood for some Eagles....

    Heather
