  1. What are your favorite quotes? I've got a friend who sends out a "quote of the day", so I figured I'd start sharing them here. I also get one from another newsletter thingie I've subscribed to.

Here are a few that I've gotten in the past:

"I believe in getting into hot water. I think it keeps you clean." -- G. K. Chesterton

"Knowledge is the raw material of production and value in this age. It used to be that the main difference between people in our society was between those who have more and those who have less. Today, however, the difference is between those who know more and those who know less." -- Brian Tracy

"Our actions and attitudes will affect many generations. Our efforts and successes today will have a monumental impact on our children and our children's children and their children. A good thing to keep in mind as we go about our lives." -- unknown

"History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or
    timid." -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

"The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity. ' -- Francis Maitland Balfour

Humility is not my forte, and whenever I dwell for any length of time on my own shortcomings, they gradually begin to seem mild, harmless, rather engaging little things, not at all like the staring defects in other people's characters.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the
press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of
speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the
freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves
beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the
protester to burn the flag." ~Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC
