I agree with your DH......I love It's a Wonderful Life. My kids think they have to watch it every Christmas Eve. It's a family tradition.

it's a wonderful life for me, too.

i cry every single time i hear zuzu say, "look, daddy. teacher says, everytime a bell rings an angel gets his wings".

my dh loves, christmas story. "it, it was......soap poisoning."

he says it reminds him of his life as a child growing up in the midwest. one year, i gave him a red rider bb gun for christmas. he was like a little kid.

Try this one for a laugh, "We're No Angels" with Humphrey Bogart. It's not so much a Christmas movie as a comedy that takes place at Christmas. It's nice for a smile though.

I love "A Christmas Story", and "A Christmas Carol" (the one with Patrick Stewart and Joel Grey). Classic!

"White Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life" . .. .our church is having a family movie night on Friday and showing the latter.

We bought a real movie theatre style popcorn maker so it should be fun and tasty. (Gotta remember to bring some parmesan cheese).

"It's A Wonderful Life" and "Christmas Vacation".

I also must confess to an ongoing love affair with classic kids' Christmas shows, like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", "A Charlie Brown Christmas", and "Frosty the Snowman". I have watched these things every single year since "Rudolph" first came out way back in 1964, and I'm not even embarrassed to say so (although my kids sure were for a couple of decades! )

Sure, it's all very corny and cliched, but when I watch these old chestnuts, it's almost like I get to stop being a middle-aged adult for half an hour: Santa Claus lives, the season's magic returns, and once again everything---even getting the kitten I asked for---becomes possible. Ahhhhhh......good times.:spin:

I thought we cleared up that middle-aged thing. Didn't we decide that it OFFICIALLY begins at 65???

My two favs are "A Christmas Story" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". I love Lampoons because it's hilarious but the poor guy just wants to have a perfect family Christmas. He tries. Christmas story is also funny, I love it when the kid gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole.

Definitely "A Christmas Story" by far. Isn't it TNT that plays it continuously for 24 hours on Christmas Eve? I have it on ALL DAY LONG...

Also like "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" because it brings back memories of watching it as a kid.
