Real journalists cite sources, so that discerning readers can examine those sources. In the case of anonymous sources, real journalists will seek corroboration from another source.

Fake journalists make $#%+ up, use lots of caps, exclamation points and superlatives. And offer no sources, other than "it's been said" or it's been reported".
    .
    Much like Fox news.

I forgot liberals get their news from REAL sources like John Stuart and Stephen Colbert.

And conservatives get theirs from REAL sources like Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Alex Jones, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly (not to mention all the irresponsible crackpot websites ...)

Jon Stewart is no longer on air, Colbert now hosts a entertainment focused talk show.
But even when they had their admitted fake news shows, they were able to produce clips of politicians and news personalities contradicting the truth.
Senator Blowhard proclaiming he is for budget cuts countered with him signing a pork barrel bill.
Fox News people saying the earth was flat.

I think that it is very annoying for some conservatives who rely on Fox, Breitbart, and hate radio for their facts, to understand that liberals obtain facts from a variety of reliable sources while enjoying clever political satire and social comedy which also is fact based. Meanwhile, conservative outlets seem to be filled predominately with frightened and angry rhetoric and little in the way of humor unless it involves comparing the current occupants of the White House with members of the great ape family or suggesting that the First Lady is a man.

During the campaign we got a very clear picture of the sort of websites and media content that were frequented by the Trumpster divers. The memes, articles, and opinion pieces which were heavy innuendo, breathless accusation, assumption, fabrication, and rhetoric while seemingly ignoring any facts or data which contradicted the claims were shared in tiring attempts to overwhelm threads with nonsense. The inability of millions of social conservatives to vet information has become painfully obvious to the world.

    Interesting history
U.S. Diplomacy and Yellow Journalism, 1895–1898
Yellow journalism was a style of newspaper reporting that emphasized sensationalism over facts.
During its heyday in the late 19th century it was one of many factors that helped push the United States and Spain into war in Cuba and the Philippines, leading to the acquisition of overseas territory by the United States.
The term originated in the competition over the New York City newspaper market between major newspaper publishers Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst...

More fake news from the left and another Muslim lying about being attacked what a surprise. Of course this was bought hook line and sinker by the press.

Congrats! One down, only several hundred more to be debunked. Good luck with that ...

Seems pretty anecdotal to me. While I believe their reporting of the non-incidents they enumerate, it's a bit like saying that since my chain-smoking granny lived to 102, then tobacco's cancer connection doesn't exist.

Is is there any actual data on this? Say a comparison between the incidence over time to look at trends?

Is there any actual data of an actual crime being committed? We already know from wiki leaks of the hate that was being instigated at Trump rallies by the Clinton campaign and now more and more of these fake stories about minorities and assorted left wing crazies claiming victim status because of Trump.

Okay, that's now nine accounts that have been discredited (the young woman in NYC, plus eight additional accounts noted in the Reason article), out of several hundred that have been reported. We're making real progress now.

We don't "know" anything of the sort. That creep O'Keefe put out another of his heavily doctored, faux "expose'" videos in which he claims to show that somebody who worked for somebody who worked for somebody who worked for the DNC was coaching people on provoking crazy Trumpies at their rallies, but, since everything else O'Keefe has reported has eventually been completely debunked, it's hard to give that too much credence. And many of us don't put nearly as much stock in Wikileaks as you do, esp. since it has become increasingly apparent over time that most of the campaign related Wikileaks info was an intentional pro-Trump propaganda campaign implemented by the Russians. (But I guess the Russians manipulating our elections doesn't bother you, as long as your guy ended up winning. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid ...)

How would you define "actual data"? There have been hundreds of reports of incidents of harassment, property damage, assault, etc. Some of them have been videotaped, there have been photos of racist and anti-gay graffiti defacing buildings, etc., but I'm sure your response is to assume that they have all been faked by individuals "claiming victim status." Maybe it will turn out that's true, but given the level of hate, racism, and every other kind of bigotry shown by many Trump supporters during the campaign (and since), I have a hard time believing that none of these things are actually happening.

I could post all sorts of sources of lists and descriptions of the hundreds of incidents that have been reported, but I don't really see the point, since you will simply continue to believe that everyone is lying, and, apparently, you refuse to acknowledge anything that isn't published by a far right website.
