I just went to a training on Smallpox. I will be training volunteers to give the vaccine in a mass clinic, if there is an outbreak. Hopefully, we will never have to have such a clinic! That is one nasty disease!

Got it. They must have spent a fortune on those mailings. I am pretty sure I could recognize small pox now. It is really interesting that the pox (vesicles ) are all in the same stage of development.

Those pictures however, are not going to be hanging on my wall or in my photo album anytime soon. Yech!!!!

Yep, got mine from the PA Dept. of Health and Human Services. Whew! No wonder us, ummm, "more mature" members have those god-awful scars from the vaccine we got as kids. I have to admit I always wondered why this particular vaccine caused such a scar. Now I know!

If asked, I'd probably get the vaccine. Heck, I had it as a child and didn't have a reaction. I don't have heart disease (the ones that have died from the vaccine did). I understand the importance of keeping the wound covered, etc. Haven't been asked yet though. Easy to say "yes" when no one is really asking.

When I got my vaccine as a child, my doc did it on my upper shoulder. He told my mom that he didn't want me to have a scar on my arm so when I grew up to be a young lady, I could wear sleeveless dresses without a scar. Interesting, eh?

I got the mailing too. I wonder if you did not have a reaction to the vaccine as a child, how do you think that will affect your chances of reacting/not reacting if you get revaccinated.

Ick...I got that mailing too. But before I received my VERY OWN COPY, a fellow worker got one. She was ENTHRALLED with the gory pics and was showing them to me OVER & OVER & OVER...she didn't seem to see that I was starting to feel like I was gonna barf my frijoles ...

My own mailing went into the trash...I don't want to look at that ever again...BLEAH

I got it in the mail a few weeks ago. My kids saw it and looked at it,seven year old read it without my knowledge. Now he won't eat chicken somehow he related this to chicken pox. My DH and have tried repetatedly to get him to understand. From now on the mail gets read by our garbage can.

I saw these photos today. In the upper right hand corner a small child, (Day 10) was very distressing to look at! Poor little baby.

Hey hey hey - why does everyone ELSE get the gross pictures mailed to them? Actually, I've seen some things on the CDC website, and they can save the 37 cents. Wow.
