Easy Drink & Desert ideas to cool off with... What are yours?

  1. I like to get out the blender and mix up some lemonade then add ice.... and more ice, so much that it becomes a frozen slushy drink! When I did it for the first time I drank it too fast and I now know what people are talking about when they say, "brain freeze"!
Another thing I had when I lived in Minnesota, (yes Brian I was an Ediner for a brief period in my life), (okay I didn't make it but it seemed like it might be easy enough) it was a fruit pizza...
It had some sort of cookie dough type crust that was covered with a cream cheese mixture then slices of kiwi, strawberry, sliced grapes, berries, and just all kinds of different fruit were put on it. I think I'm gonna make that for the next pot luck!

What do you guys make in the summer

    I'm going to lunch!

    Summer menus and beverages.....Mmmmmmmm...let's see:

I like to make lots of Tuna Salad to put on top of a bed of lettuce, and pour my favorite type of salad dressing on top of it.

Bottled water is my favorite beverage to drink, but I also like an occasional glass of ice tea, ice lemonade, or soy milk fruit smoothee that I make myself in the blender.

I like your fruit pizza idea, too!

Today I'm popping a DiGiorno Three Meat Pizza in the oven. Yummy! Love DiGiorno!

Trust me on this one.... if it is daytime, DO NOT fall asleep afterwards!! :imbar

But we do a whole lot of blender work with alcohol and non alcoholic beverages, and lots of deli sandwiches...anything to keep from firing up the oven.

Tonight is shrimp cocktail, green salad, grilled shrimp and steamed asparagus.......yum yum.

OK, I'll confess...I always wanted to do "it" on a trampoline.

    back on the subject...

We eat lots of green salad with different things on it, shrimp, tuna, chicken, pasta etc. and anything off the grill, we use charcoal only...hate the taste of gas grilled food, won't even eat at Burger King because of it.

    Sweet tea by the gallon.
    Watermelon
    ice cream bars

    FUN!!
I want to go live in YOUR neighborhood, Sunny!

I don't cook much in the summer. I live in the south (hot and humid and no central aircon). Tonight I warmed up some rice and tomatoes in the microwave and I did boil a couple of ears of corn that I didn't want to get any older.

I'd like to build EVERY meal around shrimp!!!!

Mmmmm Margaritas - the perfect hot-weather drink. What I actually drink quite often is cranberry juice with a lot of lime. Or cranberry juice with some gingerale. I LOVE that color!

    Love
