Ducks in a Row

  1. Tonight is one of those scarey nights when I got all my ducks in a row. I came in, no secretary, no monitor tech, just me in charge and all those roles. A bunch of empty beds. So I worked like a fool getting things done, checking all the charts, got one admission and did that. Helped the nurses, etc. etc. etc. etc. And guess what? It's 2AM and I've got my act together.

That makes me glad. But we're all wondering when the do do is going to hit the fan. But for now I'm glad. Now entertain me. (opps sorry...the internet at work is only for research.

Gwenith, it went very well. I thought tonight was going to be payback time. But so far so good, as evidenced by I'm on a break!!!! But it's only 12:30 AM here, so who knows what do do is out there. But we have good staffing and all is well at the moment....shhhhhh!

Becareful of lining up all your ducks or administration will think you should always do it and cancell the unit secretary and monitor tech's. Glad your night went well though.

You're right. I've managed without either this weekend, perhaps when the manager comes in I should look a little frazzled and start complaining.

Ummm - we don't have either after 4 pm - that is we don't have a unit secretary and there is no such thing as a monitor tech.
