I think the Gettysberg Address and this speach are the greated American speeches. I made my kids memorize them, the Declaration of Independence, and the Preamble to the Constitution because they didn't have to in school.

Then I was so pleased with them we went to Disneyland.

Seriously I my school that speech on TV after the dogs, firehoses, and cattleprods encouraged so many good people to act. They didn't even know, or they didn't notice what was going on even in California.

Thanks Siri. Even though I went to grade school in the mid to late 60's I vividly remember being taught that MLK was a great American hero to be admired........and I grew up the in the South. He shaped the minds of entire genetation and the generations to follow.

Many years later it's still inspiring, especially those of us still struggling for equality in the minds of the masses.

You are in school. Your family needs you on holidays.

It is not only one day.
Sunday after church I feel i helped advance 'The Dream' taking two nursing students and their families to IHOP.
The families don't understand their daughters ambition.
    Neither have kids.
One is married at age 19 with no kids. Her parents and husband complain about her going to school and only working part time. I think they get that this community college for three years and an RN license will bring them out of poverty. They do love her.
The LVNs single mother is asking her to have a baby.

Usually I give lots of support, buy uniforms and books etc., and a little help with studying.

You are doing the best possible when your kids see you treating all people with kindness and respect.
