Does anyone play an instrument?

  1. I was just wondering if anyone plays an insturment?
I have wanted to learn to play a guitar for years. My husband bought me a new guitar for Christmas. And I start my first lesson today. Learing to play guitar is one of 3 things I want to do before I turn 40(which is in Oct.) The other 2 is to let my hair grow out to about shoulder length and loose 50 pounds.
I started aerobics. I go twice a week. And am cutting my food back. I have already skipped one hair cut this year. So I'm on my way. But I just wanted to know if anyone else plays an insturment? I guess being from Tn. its just in my blood to want to learn to play a guitar

    I do.

In school I played the flute, the oboe, and the trumpet. Trumpet is cool, the oboe sounds rather like a lost duck.

I also play the piano and a harpsichord that my grandmother gave to me when she was alive.

I also sing. I'm not great, but I'm not like any of those chumps on American Idol, either.
    Flute player here, too!

Piano here; have been playing for about 30y. I also took guitar lessons, but got really frustrated and gave up (took lessons for a couple years...cute teacher!).

Give yourself time; if you've never played any instrument before it can be frustrating at times; make sure you set small, reachable goals.

I play the piano, and want a nice keyboard one of these days....

Just gave away a nice theatre organ I was teaching myself to play-- not enough room for it.

I play piano, and am glad now that I had to sit with my dreadful teacher as a kid a sidenote, my sister's asked for drums and a guitar, respectively, for maybe we can form a band after they get some practice in! That would be scary...

I play the drums, both percussion and kit. Been doing it for over 10 years. I'm mostly self taught.

I play (a little) piano, clarinet and sax. Used to play guitar, too hard on my fingertips. A friend recently got a drum set and we are both teaching ourselves to is too fun. Jack up the music and try to do what the drummer's doing...lately I'm playing along with 3 Dog Night...

I love to sing but don't sing for anyone but myself or my kids (I can carry a tune, but that's about it). I'm one of those people who really belt it out in the car.
    I play the icing bag.

Seriously, I did a brief stint on the banjo as a kid (I could play "Rocky Top" all by myself!). But that dies quickly when I realized that uncle was lying and the banjo wasn't cool at all!

I wish I could play the piano. If I had three wishes, that would be one of them.

I played flute and oboe growing up. What is it with nurses and oboes? I mean no one plays the oboe, and now I know four nurses who do. Wow!

I still play the flute now and again. Oboe is too labor intensive to be fun for me right now, but maybe someday.

I have also accumulated a guitar, an alto sax, and a 30yo electric piano (sound ranges from murky to strident). I sing too, and sometimes I even think I'm good.

My wishes would be to play either guitar or piano well enough to actually sing along with myself. I would also like to be able to fly and play for the Celtics.

Make me number 5 for the oboe! Wow, I was gonna say the same thing about that. I played the piano since I was 4, clarinet since I was 11, and oboe for 2 years in high school. I don't remember how to play either clarinet or oboe anymore, although I did really well back then. I haven't played the piano in a long time because mine got busted up by burglars a few years ago. I even have a hard time reading music anymore! I HAVE to start practicing again! And like delirium, I sing also... not awesome, but good. Good luck with the guitar!
