Is how I feel about this day. Plus it is my ex-husbands birthday and it always reminds me of him so it makes it a double day!

Nice. Rub it in dear. Rub...it ...in......then jump sweetie.

It's my anniversary, too. My husband made me a very nice dinner, gave me a large, heart-shaped balloon that plays a really annoying love song when it's tapped, and a bamboo plant that has been cultivated into a heart shape. He also gave me a gift certificate to get my hair done. It may be a holiday invented by hallmark, but all is right in my world.

I like it cause I get cool little love gifts from my kids!

Being single for so long, I guess I've gotten over the chocolately/romantic/gifty/lovey/flowery who-ha associated with Valentine's Day a long long time ago!

Last year my SO and I had a romantic dinner on top of Reunion Tower in Dallas, I'll never forget it, it was wonderful.
But...you actually had to book it with a credit card and if you didn't show up, you got charged anyway (not exactly a cheap restaurant to those not familiar with Dallas). Only on Valentine's Day do they do that.
This year we bought a house so we're a little more broke. We cooked a romantic dinner at home and watched movies on tv, just as romantic and a little more fun.
I just can't believe what an expensive crock V-Day can be.
Single people commenting earlier- everyone has been single on Valentine's Day 1 or 10 times. When you are in a relationship, you still think it's a crock (at least I do) it's just a day for me to make sure that the man in my life feels wanted and appreciated. I try to do it all the time but as everyone knows, daily life can often get in the way of taking the time to tell someone how you really feel about them.
Personally, I think that they should have a "Best Friend's Day" to show appreciation for your closest friends, another neglected area by many.
I'm almost 35 and still have close friends from high school, we all live in different states and still keep in contact and meet when we can.
Not too many people in their 30's can say that.
