Do you thinks it's rude? uninvited guests?

  1. Do you think it's rude for people to just "pop" over without being invited? I mean what a peasant! I'm not talking about family or close friends, I mean someone you maybe see once a year or talk to on the phone a couple of times a year.

    I DO!

Yup. I get irritated when even good friends just stop over because everyone knows I am busy or just hanging out in pajamas.

My friends and family are always welcome, come in your PJ's if you want to. Now if I don't know that person very well I would welcome them in, it is sad that they have no one to celebrate the holidays with. Of course, I have been known to bring strays home for a meal both human and animal.
I guess it depends on the guest. I have friends I tell to stop over anytime, and they do, they just have to understand that I'm usually running around in my jammies

Depends on the guest and situation...I am generally VERY open to folks popping in....and often I can tell if someone just needs company and/or a friend. However, I myself NEVER pop in uinvited......I just could not. Unless I was in serious need.

Same here Debbie..... I myself couldn't just pop in..... but my close friends know I have an open door policy if they ever need anything...heck half of them have keys.....
as for anyone else, I guess I'm just a big softie.... besides the way I see it...the more the merrier !!!!

Yeah Shygirl, it can be if it's someone you don't regularly talk with. Have a "person I went to school with" not even friend, that does this to different people once or twice a yr when he comes back to town. Luckily he doesn't know where I moved to-and hoping he doesn't find out...but he will

As for friends, they are welcome-but they get what they get. I'm usually in pjs or a bathrobe until 10 before I have to leave the house so that's what they'll see. But now thanks to cell phones-most people could give you a heads up if they're close by and stopping in.

Anyone I know is welcome to knock on my door anytime. Even people I don't know frequently end up at my door. My family has a multigenerational tradition of bringing home stray people, feeding them and often housing them for whatever time is needed.
I know that others aren't this way, and will always call before stopping at anyones house outside my family. My son's father insists that he must call and see if it's convenient ahead of time before stopping to see him - I find this really sad!

YES! I hate that. I like things like that to be known atleast 4 days ahead of time (yes it takes that long to clean my house) and I wanna make sure I'm not nakid when some one comes over (LOL)

My house has bars on the windows and security doors, why the front porch even has bars around it! They have to actually beat of the security door and if I am in the back of the house I don't even hear that beating sound!
    No uninvited guests here!

Hmmm. I've never had any uninvited guests. I think they are all terrified of my dog. That's a good thing.
i actually enjoy the distraction...any distraction from my everyday mundane life of school &!!! god help me!!!
