digital camera software help please

  1. I got a new digital camera for Christmas and I installed the software. I down loaded a few pictures from the camera and I can't figure out how to post them here. When I go to browse in the allnurses new thread window I can't seem to find the pictures anywhere. I can pull up the program the pictures are on but can't find the pictures. I'm stumped. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong??

I hope some of this helps.
A couple of things to check...
    1. What format are the pictures saved in? jpg, gif, bmp, etc
    2. If you are using Windows XP usually the images are dumped into the dir called my pictures under my documents.
    3. Sometimes photo software keeps the images within its own directory. Like C:\program files\softwarename\etc..
    4. If using Windows you can do a search for the file format like this... *.jpg or *.gif Using this format tells the computer to look for any jpg. Then you can scroll through the results and find your pictures.
Once you find your images you will know where the software puts them.
    Hope this helps...

Kaycee, mine are in "my pictures" folder. I have Photosuite for my digital camera and the photos automatically show up there.

I would check the areas that Ed has mentioned.

    Any luck yet?

My program that came with the camera stores them with in it's own folder. I downloaded them from the camera again into the "my Pictures" folder. So I can get to them now but the bytes are too large to post here and I can't figure out how to change the size. I'm still working on it. Thanks for the info ED and Marie.

If you post what software you have I should be able to give you some tips. If not, always look for a choice on the tool bar of "resize." Then using the resize tool you should be able to shrink them down to a size that works. Usually "raw" images from a camera are too large for the web.

I have Camedia Master that came with the camera. I also have Adobe Photo shop 7.0 which I generally use to resize stuff stored in the "my picture's " folder. Thanks for the help.
