  1. Okay yall!

After missing my first three days of school, i went to the doc! I was vomiting so much i couldnt get ready, much less out the door!

But anywho! He put me on some med. and told me to stay away from citrusy fruit and that is something that i ate alot because i was trying to get away from fatty foods, to lose weight!

Now I constantly feel bad about my self, because i dont feel like i am eating right and i am down to exersizing 2 nights a week because of school!

So now I am looking for a diet!!! Something that will help me lose weight, and have food that i can eat!?!?And I was wondering if anyone out here had one in mind that i might be able to try! Or just any ideas!

I am not overweight, but i do feel really bad! You probibly understand! Any help will be great!

I sure do know how depressing it is when you can't eat what you love. I suggest you try watermelon it is delicious and shouldn't upset your stomach. Also cereal is a good choice, it is fast and lowfat. Good luck

When he lets you go back on the citrus eat other stuff with it--grains and legumes will keep the acid from making you sick. Don't stick with any one thing, that won't work. Add veggies to the mix too, just fruit doesn't have all of the goodies you need. Stay away from meat, eggs, fatty dairy products, refined sugar (mt. dew and table sugar) and you'll feel better. Keep up the exercise two, two days a week is better than none . good luck!!

    Hi Megan!!!

Long time no hear from ya around these parts! Hope you're feeling better, and enjoying school now.

Keep in mind that the word DIET means "To DIE" ! Okay...someone told me that many years ago, so everytime I see the word, the first three letters stick out like a sore thumb at me because I was ALWAYS on somebody's "DIET PLAN".

It's not good to "DIET"... It's much much healthier to eat a balanced meal in small amounts six times a day. As young as you are, you probably don't have the slow metabolism like I do being aged fifty. I would recommend you continue your exercise regime...even if it's only twice a week...like Brian said...at least you are exercising.

Sometimes I wish I could swallow a pill before bedtime, and wake up 50 pounds thinner. But....there is no pill that will do that...so...I have to discipline myself to feed myself nutritiously, exercise to keep my cardiac muscle and other muscles strong, and not give in to the tempation of doing anything naughty to my body.

I always ate well...very healthy foods...did not grow up on junkfood but homegrown veggies, fresh meat from a dairy farmer, and sometimes from the grocery stores when necessary. When I became a wife and mother, I continued to eat healthy and feed my family healthy. Then by the time I turned 40 something happened to my metabolism. Woe is me! :chuckle

Hey, check out my thread about staying healthy on the General Discussion Forum. You may pick up some great tips from there. Nice seeing your gorgeous face smiling here again. :kiss

Thank yall all so much! I have never been a big meat eater, because of my stomach (grease) But we just bought a George Forman grill, and I was so amazed at how much grease came off of it, so i ate a a few lil' bites of stake with my baked potato last night and it didnt make me sick! I was really shocked! But I am just going to try to stay away from really sweet stuff and dairy products as much as I can. But I love cereal (frosted mini wheats!!! yum yum yum!) so that will be a lil' harder!

Anywho! Thank you all so much!

Rennee! Girlie, you crack me up! School is going great! Now that I am going! LOL! I'll e-mail later!

Megan: Try the diet on the web site gicare.com..........Jackson Gastroenterology.........I've just been put on a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet and find their suggestions easy to live with. I have a persnickity stomach and lactose intolerance. This diet has been great and it's healthy. Good Luck with it and with school.

Hey Renarian, was it hard at first leaving meat alone? I've always said one day I wanted to be a vegetarian. I couldn't be a vegan, but I can leave meat alone.....Oneday. Tips?

WEll probably to be successful you need to wean yourself off certain meats first. Ie) the first two months you cut out red meat and go one meat every month or every other month. Need to ensure you get good protein from beans, grains and tofu. Do you like any of those foods?

YOu know, I was on WW about 8 months ago, I lost weight every week w/o fail. Kept up w/ the diet w/ no problem. My problem now? (other than I love to eat) comfort food and all, since I've started to school and still working nights, I couldn't make the meetings. I know that the reason I lost weight was the "weigh in" thing. I didn't want to embarass myself in front of anyone by gaining instead of losing. It was the "peer pressure" thing.
So, now what do I do? I'm at that age (39 and holding) where this has become an issue for me! I haven't always been overweight. I was one of those people who said "how can anyone let themselves get like that"........now..........hmmmmmm
I need some good advice. My doctor in his vast wisdom says......keep your mouth closed. It's not funny. It's going to become a real problem. I did try a grapefruit diet, but stayed sick the whole week.
Would appreciate any and all advice.
    Thanks
