    I grew up in the 70's . . . . .well, part of the 60's too.

    I was in college in the 80's . . . . . I remember singing "My Sharona"

I think I did wear jellies. Never a slap bracelet.

My dorky husband, who is 53, says "Watch you takin' bout Willis"

Why are there still reruns of that "Fresh Prince" guy . . . . ?

My dd wears her t-shirts with a knot on the side. . . .

Pee-Wee is a pervert . . . Doogie is gay . . .Samantha did grow up to be hot.

Have mercy , I did all these goofy things.

I watch the fresh prince every night still and I do know all the words.
Not only do I know the new Kids on the Block , I remember all their songs....

I watch Saved by the Bell every Saturday.....

I had We are the world burned into a CD for my car.

    Jellies ,yes I had them.

I taught my daughter how to roll her jeans... this is a fade that made a temporary comeback...

Not to long ago I was fussin at my kids for not doing something and in the middle of the conversation came out "Wax on Wax Off". they looked at me like I had 6 heads.

Being pregnant I have gotten really picky about my food and the other day I ordered a hamburger and the patty was 3 sizes smaller than the bun and I ask the lady behind the counter .."Where's the Beef"...she was a teenager and acted like she had no clue what I was talking about.

    This is sad sad sad!!!

I was born in 1981, so much of this stuff applies to me!

    1. I wore jellies
    2. I watched the 'ALF' show
    3. I remember New Kids On The Block when they were popular
    4. I remember the "I've fallen and I can't get up" lady
    5. I watched the 'Different Strokes' show
    6. I ended some of my sentences with "Sike!"

I can go on and on about the 1980s!

I hope the 80's never make a comeback.

I hate the Fresh Prince now and I have no idea what "wax on, wax off" means. Someone please enlighten me.

Everything else applies. I actually went to a NKOTB concert.

"NOT" at the end of the sentence seems to have come along later than the '80s. I never said it as a teen, nor did I hear anyone else say it, until about 5 years ago.

    Yeah, I was having kids in the 80's . . . . started the decade finishing college and ended it with 3 kids . . . . 1983, 1985 and 1989 . . . . .then came the one in 2001 . . . . that sounds weird.

Ok, some of "80's "culture" must have passed me by in the cornfields of rural Illinois!

    What does "SIKE" mean?
  13. by sirI
Sike means something on the lines of, "HA!!!! I tricked you". Or, "I lied".

Wax on, wax off is from the movie Karate Kid. Mr. Miyagi was teaching him discipline while waxing a classic car. "wax on.....wax off".

I guess I missed that one, too! All I can think of is "Clap on, clap off," as in the Clapper!
