Did anyone watch Last Thursday's episode of ER

  1. I thought the nurse who decked that sexual abuser did a great job on him. Boy, she's nobody to play games with.

I love her!! I love the whole show, although it can get a bit far fetched (helicopter accidents?).[

I did watch it (courtesy of TiVo!) and I liked it. I'm glad she knocked the abuser around.

Do you remember her first episode? As she walked in sone huge guy was beating up the staff, someone had a syring of haldol but could not get to him, she grabbed it, got in in the jugular, straight mainline, what a woman !

She was great when she knocked him on the floor. Sometimes the show is unrealistic but always entertaining!

I thought it was really cool but nothing to match my husband's reaction. He started chearing and acting all goofy then he got the giggles and couldn't stop. He told me that's his "kind of nursing." I still think Weaver and her reply to the HR guy following everyone was good. Not that any of it would really happen.

Have to agree that the nurse punching out the visitor was excellent but in my hospital she would have been fired on the spot and would also face the BON with her license on the line. ER is a wonderful show but fiction all the way.

Didn't she also rip off Romano's prosthetic arm (after he touched her inappropriately) then she and Susan locked it in the tampon dispensing machine. Romano kept running around after Susan begging her to tell him where his arm was. She told him @ the end of the shift, saying, "Get it yourself!" Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

I have been meaning to post about that episode ever since I watched it. I do think that the way she took down that scum was cool. After all, when he didn't release her arm when she asked, he was technically committing battery. What I didn't like was the hospital's response of threatening to fire her.

The part that bothered me most about the show was the whole scenario of that nurse feeling held back by her child. The impression was that because she was a mother she was limited to being a nurse. Abby on the other hand, had an abortion as a teen, and was free to follow her dreams wherever they may lead. Abby used to be a positive image for nursing a few years ago when she decided that she was happy as a nurse, and that she didn't want to go back to med school. Carol discovered the same thing. Now Abby is back in med school and the only other major nurse character is feeling trapped in her life. Oh what I wouldn't give to see positive images of nursing

Speaking of ER... ever since the Janet Jackson thing, I've been reading about how the TV stations had to edit out nudity in an episode with an elderly woman (the episode when Romano first gets his fake arm- rerun) because people were so offended by JJ's nipple flashing. I was just wondering- did anyone else see this on ER? They didn't edit out anything where I am, and we saw it.

I saw it,and it wasn't blanked out when I saw it. I was a little shocked that it was allowed in the first place, even though I thought of it in a medical way...I'm sure there was someone who would of thought of it in a different way and b***hed about it.
