  1. [font="georgia"]good morning! :kiss

i have nothing planned for thursday, with the exception of relaxation. i think we all need mental health days every once in a while. i'm so sick and tired of my job, and am just trying to hang on until the 2-year anniversary of employment arrives in february.

take care, and have a wonderful day!

Hi Commuter, and thank you for starting the GM thread.
It seems the "home stretch" is the hardest: when we KNOW something we dislike will end soon, and it just can't happen soon ENOUGH!!
Bless you, hang on tight, you can do it!

We have a busy work schedule tomorrow (which means I may have to do some OT).
Thurs. nite's Jazz class is done for the semester.
No Thurs. jam, either, as the donut shop owner (who hosts the jam) had CABG on Wed.
He's doing well, according to his wife.
I'm glad he's followed up on taking care of himself, I have worried about him.

    Just chillin' here . .

Better get ready for bed. See you all in my tomorrow!

Everyday is a mental health day for me.

Decided to treat myself and went out and bought Frasier, Season 10 on DVD. I'm all done with classes until Jan. 14. I'm already bored! I'm thinking about going to the bookstore tomorrow and reading ahead. I'm taking French and I've never been good at it. I love to read but I just can't sit still long enough to get into a book. I'm sure on Jan 13 I'll be wishing I had more time.

Hello everyone.... been sick the past couple days with some sort of stomach thing... not fun. I hope everyone is having a good morning. Really don't feel like being at work tonight, but I'm technically healthy again. ^_^ Have a great day.

    Alois, glad you're feeling better.
I heard someone describe the stomach flu like this:
'First you're afraid you're going to die.
    Then you're afraid you won't.'
    Take care of yourself.

I love the funny piccys you post.

    Enjoy watching Frasier, bethin!
Good show, excellent scripts (for the most part)!

Alois, that stomach stuff has been everywhere.

My 2 oldest nieces had it on their birthday - one threw up twice on my brother and once on my head (ewww!). We had 4 weekend option employees, myself included out with it 2 weeks ago. I'm just glad it's over before Christmas! Seems the past few years at Christmas I've been throwing up.

Di, Niles cracks me up! I'm him in a female body. Nervous, anxious, taking napkins and wiping off chairs in public, using my elbow to open doors, hyperventilating, you get the idea. And I love that apartment.

i always had the impression you liked your job. is it rehab that you're tired of or the facility? hope things turn out ok. once you graduate you'll have many more options!

    are you done with finals?

I'm tired of the rehab aspects of the job, because some of the family members can get really demanding and unrealistic with their high expections. I prefer being in the traditional LTC section.

    I'm done with finals...

Why wait for your 2 year anniversary if you know what you want?

I couldn't cut it in LTC. I saw it as a building of despair and hopelessness. Even thinking about it brings me down. Families just view it as a dumping ground of their loved ones. We had one daughter who called once a year on Father's Day to ask about "dad". That's what she said, "how's my dad doing". I told her we have lots of dads, she needs to be specific.

It's midnight and I'm just back from work, so I figured I'd go on the GM thread now because I'll probably be getting up late in the morning.

Commuter, I hope you can find something more appealing, though it is strange to hear someone who prefers LTC.

    Alois, glad you're better.

bethin, maybe you need to find a male Maris then! Come to think of it, they never showed Maris...

    Anyway, I'm off to bed.

Howdy! Not much to share today as per the usual. Feeling a little under the weather, so I'm thankful I don't have to work the rest of the week.

Commuter - Thanks for starting the thread. February isn't too far away. I know, easy for me to say.

Di - I hope the owner continues to do well.

bethin - C'est la vie. The problem for me has always been the pronunciation. I started learning French when I was really young, and all was fine until I started to learn to read and write in French some time later. Even now, when I see "s'il vous plait," my first inclination is to say "sill voose plate." Sad, but true.

Alois - Sorry to hear you've been sick.

    Joe - Hey, Joe!
