Death in the family

  1. Robin's dad just passed away.
Her sister called me here at home and told me.
I tried calling Robin at work and on her cell but she isn't available.
I know she will be hurting when I tell her and I hate it when my baby hurts.
    (sigh)
I have had to tell many people in the past that their Dad has died and it's never easy...this one will be the hardest.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Rusty. And Robin's, of course. At least, she have you to lean on. You're both in my thoughts.

Just be there for her Rusty. Sorry you have to be the one to bear the news, though if ya gotta hear news like that it's good to hear it from someone who loves you. I just lost my Dad a few months ago and I'm hurting for both of you. My DH stood beside me at every step and I can't tell you how greatful I was to just have his soulder to lean on.

She is very lucky to have a loving family and you to help her through. Betcha those boys will be pampering their Mom, and be right there when she needs them.

My love to your family, and this is one of those times when I wish we could all share our strength.

Heck...we'll all come over and clean your house/stock your freezer/screen your phone calls if you like. Just post the directions...

I finally got ahold of her. She was driving back from a meeting. I told her to pull off the road for a minute. She did and I told her that her dad was gone. She was in a bit of shock, cried for a bit and then composed herself.
She has just started a new position from admin assistant to program director. Finally she is the big bannana at work. She has messes to clean up, massive organizational things to do and then this. The timing could have been better.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. I suppose she will be headed up to Michigan soon.

So sorry to hear this news. It doesn't get any easier giving bad news over time, except for knowing what not to say. Hug Robin extra long tonight.

Rusty - special regards go out to you both. (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) - it is not easy. How sad for you both - it is never easy to lose a parent no matter what the circumstances and especially if you are not there with them.

Tell Robin that if she wants to come on line and talk please feel welcome to do so.
