dear abby....

  1. so I met this guy and I really like him and feel great around him. The only problem is he lives in a house with a bunch of guys (believe me you can tell) and his house smells like cat pee. Really bad like cat pee. Is this a deal breaker?

Definitely! The place should smell of hamsters!

Is it a deal breaker FOR YOU??? (And, does it matter what anyone else thinks?)

Sometimes you can tell a lot about a person by the way they keep their house.

But are the cats his? Does he even like them? If they are the other mens and he doesn't want to have anything to do with them, you can't really blame him. Cats aren't perfect, as you well know (LOL!), so maybe they have some sort of problem? Who knows unless you talk to him about it...though I agree with Marie too that you can tell a lot about a person by observing where they live!

Do they even have a cat? If not then run now.

I agree - find out if there's currently a cat in the house. If not - definite deal breaker.

Geez....didn't think of that....just assumed they had them! LOL!

rofl, leave it to TWEETY to cut to the chase.

I dunno, only YOU can decide what a deal- breaker is or is not. If he is a slob and you are a neatnik, it is likely a HUGE barrier to overcome, I will warn you now. Good luck to you!

Eeew, what if they don't have a cat, and that place smells like pee? Makes you wonder who's not making it to the loo.

cat pee, no cat....perhaps sweaty socks and spilled beer, or too much testosterone. Do men spray their territories like Tom cats? My eldest son is sharing quarters with 3 other college guys and their place stinks. May just need a woman's touch......

My ex shared a house with a friend, of course the reason why their place stunk was the 2 cats and a dog. The dog (which belonged to my ex) was housebroken, so were the cats (belonged to the roomie), but his roommate didn't change the catbox until it was ready to walk itself down the steps and out the door.
