Cutting the Cheese. . .

  1. We've got a small block of Vermont Chedder cheese and no knife to cut it into smaller, bite-sized pieces. In desperation I decided to use a wooden tongue depressor. Works like a charm!

Whenever you don't have a knife to. . . oh, let's say. . . cut some cheese, what do you use?

(Oh yea, I'm at work. It's a beautiful summer, cool-breezed night tonight My two patients are safely sleeping with their hearts a-beatin'. And I've been eating cheese and crackles most of the night! Love cheese and crackers! )

Actually, I always have a knife on me (with my belongings if not on my person).
You just never know when you might be handed a block of cheese...

Use a fork, or when no one's looking chomp on it whole like I'm eating an apple. But the tongue blade sounds very clever. I'll have to remember that next time I have to cut the cheese.

I have used a spoon a stitch cutter and even just a thread before. My big beef is teaspoons.

Is this just an Aussie thing or is there a strange anti-magnetic force in all staff tearooms that repel the humble teaspoon? We are always short esp since the goverment decided to save money and hands out wooded "Ice block sticks" as stirrers. Ever tried measuring the coffee with a thin wooden stick???

Using thread is a great idea to cut the cheese! I'll remember that!

Here's an idea to measure out coffee. . . we use a small medicine cup. It takes three of them (90 ml of fresh coffee ) to make a fresh cup of coffee!

. . . with these three particular threads I started????

(Just a little creative "feeling bloated" late-night humor!)

Dental floss works really well too. Hey Ted, would you share the cheese with us?

Share the cheese that I cut? Sure!

I have an even better idea! Ever have a cheese fondu party?!?!?

Let's have an "" cheese fondu party.
Of course we'll need a lot of cheese and bread and wine (for those who drink). . . YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

Understand that I LOOOOOVE the fondu-style of cooking food (including cheese fondu). It's almost as good as sushi!

All of this talk about food is making me hungry!
