Crawdad trap *CUTE!*

  1. So I am sitting here at the computer answering posts when I hear this horrid bang on my front porch! It sounded like someone actually fell off, or some of my plants in big heavy planters...so I ran out to find out what was up!

There was my dog (Jack Russel) and he was all wound up in a thin rope and attached to that rope, our crawdad trap! Now this crawdad trap hasn't had too much luck with catching crawdads...so I laughed and said...well I guess it is a dog trap!

But I had to pause when I looked inside and found this adorable mouse inside! Okay it catches dogs and mice! LOL!!!!!!

I was able to free the dog, and the mouse. The mouse immediately ran up my arm and cuddled into the crook of my neck and nestled in my hair! I don't mind animals, so this didn't bother me beside tickling! I showed my family and they just laughed..."oh boy Jane of the Jungle as usual!"...LOL! (I know the risks of vermin like mice with diseases well...so don't worry...I cleaned WELL afterwards! LOL!).

I took the mouse out to the furthest end of the property away from any structures and let it go at an old stump. It ran into a nice covered nook and I knew it would be okay!

What a way to start my day! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Wonder what that old dog/mouse/crawdad trap will catch next??? LOL!!!!!!

That is so sweet and funny! Thanks for sharing. I guess the mouse knew a softy when he saw one. They are cute with those little pink feet and button brown eyes.

We used to catch crawdads in South Carolina when I was little.

That was great ! What a delightful little story ... thanx for sharing that ! Cute!

I love little meeskers, too... tiny little fieldmice are precious. Little noses going a mile a minute.

Heck, I'd rather have a little mouse on me anyday than a scritchy-scratchy crawdad!

Well, you did just what I would have. And the little creature knew he had a safe place from the dog.. that you'd protect him until you could release him back out into the field.

    You're a good woman.

Those little Jack Russels are something else.... they get into the darndest messes ! :chuckle

    What a cute story!!

Sounds like something my dog would've done. Toby isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, and he gets himself into some of the silliest predicaments imaginable. Good thing we don't have any crawdad traps around.......

Triage....you have a Jack Russell; what do ya expect?

Maybe you should take the show on the road?

I'm a mousie lover too... my husband thought I was absolutely insane when he found me putting peanut butter crackers in the cupboards of my apartment when we were dating... I told him it was because I had seen a mouse and I didn't want it to have to come out of the cupboards since I had two cats! Yup, he thought I was bonkers... good thing he didn't notice the mayonnaise jar lid full of water...

    Too cute!!

I like mieces too! I used to have a dog that loved mice. He had one particular favorite....a gray house mouse....the dog would set off the mouse traps so the mouse could eat the cheese.....then the dog would hide the traps from my ex. The mouse also used to chase the dog through the house....they were a riot to watch!!

No longer have a 'mouse friendly' house....cat LOVES mice!
