    Dreamsickle Cookies

    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
    3/4 cup shortening
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1 cup white chocolate chips
3 tablespoons orange powdered drink mix, such as Tang
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    3 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon butter or margarine

3 tablespoons powdered orange flavored drink mix, such as Tang
    1 cup confectioners' sugar
    water or milk

Preheat oven to 375F. Lightly grease baking sheets. Cream the shortening and the sugar together until light. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk. Add the buttermilk mixture, salt, 3 tablespoons Tang, flour and baking powder to the shortening mixture. Mix well. Stir in the white chocolate chips. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Frost cookies while still hot with Tang Glaze.

To Make Tang Glaze: Combine the butter, 3 tablespoons Tang, confectioners sugar plus enough water or milk to reach a thick yet still pourable consistency and beat until smooth.

Think I'll try these, sound yummy. Karen

Do you think that I could substitute Cherry Koolaid for Tang? Other than the tang part, then sounded good!

If you want a Cherry tasting cookie instead of an Orange tasting one, OK!

I have not purchased tang in a few decades, but I used to LOVE that stuff as a kid! Astronauts drank it!!!!!

Anyway, Brandy, the cookies are supposed to tase like the orange creamsicles. Now cherry dreamsicles do sound yummy, but I don't think the tang will taste like tang when made, it should taste like the popsicle.

Did they taste like the popsicles woo?

I am stuck waiting for my new washer/dryer to be delivered on Saturday, virtually my only Christmas shopping and decorating day, so maybe I will bake some cookies after all. I'll be out late Friday night on a shoping frenzy now, so getting up late Sat, and baking some cookies while we decorate for Christmas sounds perfect! Got a few new Xmas CD's to. I am such a sucker for Xmas music.

the cookies taste like an orange popscile but the whilte chips give them the creamy flavor, so when decorating the tree ttry to back some, as for me today and tomorrow is my day off, so i have bought the tree and some bayberry candles, hoping to go shopping soon but its already 2 and i,m getting no where fast, son is coming home from college and just called to say he has to change rooms and i need to come pick up his stuff, not enough room in his car for all that junk, maybe santa won't visit us this year.
