Contacts or Glasses

  1. Is it true, guys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses? Could it work BOTH ways???

This comes to mind because I'm getting my eyes checked soon, and can't decide if I want contacts over glasses. I've worn both, currently I wear glasses. They are so light, but beginning to weigh a ton!!!

The last time I wore contacts, was my junior year in high school. BEGGED Mom for contacts and ended up scratching my cornea JUST in time for PROM! I went to prom in sunglasses.
Why? Because the light, any light...even candlelight HURT.

Now that I'm older, I wonder what my experience would be like?

Personally, I LOVE a man wearing glasses. I don't know why I think men wearing glasses are sexy. All of my exes wore glasses, my hubby wears glasses...I just mmm!

I prefer my contacts over my glasses. I haven't been able to find frames that I like. I've worn contacts for so many years, that I think I actually see better with my contacts.

I wore contacts for years, but then developed astigmitisms in both eyes which made it difficult for contacts......now I am used to my glasses and actually think I don't look so bad in them so no more contacts!!!!

I prefer my contacts over glasses cause my periferal (sp?) vision is better with contacts. Also, my eyesight is sooo bad that my glasses are like Coke bottles! Probably once I start working 12's as a CNA, i will wear my glasses, not sure I could stand contacts for 12 hours overnight!

I wore contects when I was a teenager. I hated them, my eyes were always irritated and I couldn't see as well as with glasses. I only wish I had them when I go somewhere formal. I've decided to embrace my glasses and recently got a pair of over-the-top blue horned rim ones. I get a lot of complements because they're so goofy looking.

guys certainly DO make passes at girls with glasses!
as a girl with glasses I am telling you that from personal experience!
I have worn glasses since I was very young , and I would not change !
they are a part of who I am ,my personality or whatever , its cool to go shopping for different ones , and the fact that they make me have perfect vision is just a bonus hehe
as for the men in glasses thing, I'm attracted equally to men with glasses and without....
depends on the person of course but yeah I'd say glasses can make people really sexy looking sometimes, or sometimes just goofy as evidenced in pretty much any/all of my childhood school pictures
I remember being about ohhhh 12 or 13 or so and convinced that no one would want to ask me out because I had the hideous glasses/braces combo going on
well the braces came off , the glassed didnt look so akward anymore, and lets just say I did more dating than any of my cute little glasses free friends!
chalk one up for the girl with glasses!
okay I went way off on this but its a topic so close to my heart.
and show me a little kid with glasses and I am smitten!!!!!!!

I didn't need to wear glasses until my early 40's. The glasses I had to purchase were prescription glasses to be used for reading only...until this summer when I had to get bifocals. But, since I chose the new age "bifocals" without the line across the middle, I don't mind wearing them. The problem I am having is adjusting to them, so only put them on when I have to...which is anytime I have to read something written in less than medium sized print.

I was married when I was prescribed glasses, so the dating thing wasn't an issue, but I can say I had men take a double look at me whenever I did have on my glasses. They would say "What pretty brown eyes you have" because they stood out better with my glasses on. Whatever...it didn't make me want to wear my glasses any more than I had to. I'm at that age of "not too much impresses me", so don't really tend to give much of a hoot one way or the other. :chuckle

P.S. I can't wear contact lenses because the doctor told me my eyesight is too bad for contact lenses. I should have smacked her, huh?

There should be an option for both.

I wear glasses at work and at professional functions -used to work an ID unit - around patients that never covered their mouthes when they coughed. I couldn't stand the thought of sticking my fingers in my eyes.

I have pretty eyes - so I've been told - so contacts for play, sports and dates.

Smack her for lying to you. If I can wear contacts, anybody can. I've had soft ones and my vision was corrected to 20/20. I just can't get past sticking my finger in my eye. I just recently found some lightweight metal frames. I look good!!

I have astigmatism and wear contacts. I think for astigmatism you have to wear special lenses - torics, I think they are called. They feel great - soft and disposable. I can't wear them all the time here, though. Vegas is hot and dry, and you definitely need some moisture in the air for them to feel totally comfortable. When I'm visiting my folks in Ohio I can wear them all the time and sometimes forget they are in!

Even though, My glass is mild, without glasses I have heaches and blurred vision which makes my eyes painful. So I am wearing glasses. NO contacts. Nil at home.

I have had bad vision ever since I was a little girl. I remember being truamatized because I had to get glasses when I was in the 4th grade!!! EEKKK!!!

I have been wearing contacts for 4 years now and I love them! I don't mind taking them out every night, I rarely clean them and mom being an opthemalgic assistant I get quite the pooty in the booty for it!! I rarely wear my glasses because the air hurts my eyes (no this isn't a sorry excuse to not wear my glasses, which I look mighty fine in...) just that since I wear my contacts all day, my eyes aren't used to the air, and If I wear my glasses my eyes burn and dry up...but I do like my glasses.

By the way: my eye sight now at 17 is: -5.00 & -4.75
That's both my parents eye sights put together!!!! Lazer eye surgery here I come!!!!!!! Nah....I'm a chicken......bwakkk!!!

don't you hate when you re-read your post and you screw up!!!

I'm going to ask a new doc about it next year when I return for my annual visual check-up. Glad you are liking your cool frames, too. The frames I chose don't look half bad...at least that is what the saleswoman who sold them to me said.
