Comfort Food - What's Your Favorite?

  1. After 2 12's in a row with working all week at the clinic I am beat. Tonight, on the way home, I craved a home cooked meal. Thank goodness for Boston's Market! I ordered: meat loaf with tomato gravy, mashed potatoes, herb corn, and an extra helping of steamed veggies.. oh it was good.

Tomorrow I plan to through some corn beef in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. I will pick up a box of bread mix and some yummy gourmet spicey mustard (pass the Grey Poupon).

So... what is your favorite comfort food? Care to share any recipes? or secret easy ways of throwing together a fabulous meal that your family thinks you slaved over for hours?

We've been trying to fix a broken water pipe all day, hooking up new pipes, crawling around under the house, so I think as soon as the big test proves itself, (one way or another) I'm going to Wendy's for something Hot and Juicey! Comfort foods! And throw in a frosty too!

I love rice. I eat it with seaweed (think sushi here), red pepper sauce and other spicy things. Not too bad in the calorie department, although all the salt probably isn't too good for my BP.

I keep a pot going all the time, and chow after a stressful day or week.

But as I rely on Chef Stouffer and Chef Marie for most of my meals.....Have to say that hagan ice cream is what i crave when i need some immediate comfort...

Hmm, I found some sugar snap pea pods at the Superstore this week. I love raw peas! Pigged out on them at work last night.

Any of my mother's cooking does it for me. I just don't have the time (or the counterspace) to cook like she does. I'm going down there tomorrow for dinner after I visit my Grandmother.

I love my speghetti and meatballs. When I have the inclination I make and freeze a ton of Italian beef and pork meatballs.
