Coca-cola C2

  1. Have you tried it?

It's got half the kcal & carbs than regular coke. I can't get it around here yet. If anybody has tried it, I have a couple questions. Does it taste good? Does it have aspartame in the ingredients?

My question is....if there is a diet Coke, why do they need a Coca Cola 2? I will see if WalMart has it when I go later today.

Diet Coke has no calories as C2 has half the calories. Probably tastes better.

But a lot of products that were already low carb are renaming themselves to get on the low carb craze. Kind of like "Ultra Low Carb Beer", instead of Lite Beer which only had one more carb.

Low carb diabetic foods like syrup have been around forever. By diabetic sugarless syrup in the diabetic food section and it's way less than Adkins syrup.

Just Coke getting in on the Low Carb craze. But it's nice to have low carb options if you on that diet.

I just grab a Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke. No sugar at all.

I'm especially interested if they are using splenda (a no-kcal sweetener made from real sugar). I am really hoping they are. I can't stand the taste of diet coke (it's got aspartame in it).

This has nothing to do with coke, but about Splenda.,..is it good? Does it taste more like real sugar? Does it have an aftertaste?

Didn't know there was a test today huh?

Splenda is fabulous and you can actually cook with it and bake with it. And no aftertaste. It is the only thing that I use.

I use Splenda in my coffee along with half and half. It is good - no aftertaste.

I'm so used to diet drinks that regular stuff tastes bad to me. Too sickeningly sweet. Weird how you get used to stuff. Like going from whole milk to 2% to 1% to skim. I NEVER thought I'd be able to drink non-fat milk and now everything else tastes too fatty . . .

OMG....if you haven't tried Splenda yet, you need to!!! The first time I tried it, I was doing Atkins and was jonzing for some Kool-aid!! I remembered that I had it, so I figured I'd try it and see if it was as gross as the other artificial sweeteners. Let me just say that I canNOT tell the difference between it and sugar!!!

As for aftertaste, there's none!!! It's a little more expensive, but I buy the big bags that you can cook with and it's worth it! It even measures just like sugar! Now, I've never baked with it, and I think there are some simple changes you have to make (due to moisture issues) but I'll definately give it a shot soon!

I concur with everybody else! Splenda IS 'da bomb'. Like Suzanne said, you can cook with it! No aftertaste, like diet coke has. You'd be amazed by how light it is when you get a box of it. I really thought the box was empty when I got it the first time. Its made by adding a Cl ion to simple sugar. There are several diet drinks that utilize Splenda: Diet Rite, Diet big red, Crystal light, etc.

I was hoping for a LONG time that coke would start using Splenda. The coke reps said that there just simply weren't enough Splenda manufacturers. They also didn't want a disaster to happen. Anybody remember NEW COKE back in the 80's. I am a southern girl and I love my coca-cola. I just don't drink it that often due to the kcal.

Today when I got gas, they had the Coca-cola C2 sign up at the gas station, but they hadn't received the shipment. I'm going to make a compulsive dash ( ) to the grocery across the street to check on it.

I just bought some! It's made w/ aspartame AND Splenda. Interesting, eh? 70 kcal/ 1 can. It tastes good, and I don't even have any cans chilled yet! Very expensive, though. $3.19/ 8 - 12 oz. cans. Guess I answered my own thread. :chuckle

I've been waiting on it to come out, but I haven't ran across any yet. I drink way too many regular cokes and love the idea of a lighter coke that may taste better than Diet Coke.
