  1. I started the day pretty routine, packed my son and my fishing gear bright and early, got in my car, drove less than one block, and boom,,,,,,my routine wed. was over. A fellow ran a stop sign. Out of the blue a front end of a car was crashing into my car. I am amazed. I did not have time to even get scared, put on my brakes, or anything. I have (maybe had) a toyota celica. He had a "boat" big car. I ended up at the ER, refused the ambulance ride, felt I wasn't dyeing on the spot. My husband came and drove me straight there. I was having pain with inspiration. Thank you God, my son had decided to spend the night at his dads, I was on my way to pick him up for our Wed morning fishing outing. The ER doc thought the x-rays showed a t4 and t5 compression injury. My knees caught my thrust forward so my left hip is hurting. Got bruises in really weird places. I have know ideal where all I hit, I do not remember hitting anything. I feel really lucky. I'm so greatful my ll year old was not with me. My cute little toyota celica may be totaled. Silly to get so attatched to a car. I am just a greatful person tonight. Hurting but greatful.

Bummers, Cwissy ! Hugs to you, and pray you heal quickly. Cars can be replaced, but I understand the being "attached" bit. Sad.

    Ditto the above.

Was the dude drunk/blind or what?

    What was his lame excuse?

For nearly killing you or disabling you for life ?

Cwissy, Please take care of yourself!

Being in a car accident is like three accidents happening. First the other car hitting yours, then you hitting whatever in your car, lasting everything inside you banging around. You are going to find that you own muscles that you never knew existed. Be good to yourself, take it easy and slow.

I am so glad that you were able to walk away from the accident. I hope that your back will be OK. Please, please be good to yourself.
