Christmas ornaments

  1. Howdy everyone! I just wanted to share this fun and easy activity...I have two little brothers (ages 5 and 8) and a little sister (9). Yes, if you look at my profile I am 23...long story. Anyhow, we made Christmas ornaments last week with this really simple recipe. It was so easy and the kids had a blast doing it...Not to mention the ornaments smell ssoooooo good!

    3/4 cup applesauce
    1 cup cinnamon
    2 tablespoons craft glue

Mix all of the above together. Roll out with rolling pin. Cut out designs with cookie cutters. Let dry. After dry, thread your...thread of choice through the holes. I used twine...rustic looking.

Couple of tips if you decide to do this...
    1) While the cookie cutter is "in place" I used a pencil (you can use anything) to make a hole at the top of the ornaments for string to go through. That way I didn't rip the ornament.

    2) They actually took a few days to dry out completely.

    Have fun!

I think I've seen something like this before, but never made them.

I may have to make some with my kiddos before my Algebra class starts up on the 19!

    Thanks for posting it!!

What a neat recipe. The last one I tried was popped popcorn rolled in molasses. You make a snowball out of it and stuff a toy or your favorite candy in the middle. You can buy snow cone cups and put the ball on the top.
