Christian Nurses and Students

  1. Hi everyone. Since we were debating on another thread, I thought it might be nice to have a Christian thread where we can pray for each other, debate and just share in our faith.....

I have questions I would like to pose to some of you and could really use the fellowship since some of you know I have been unable to find the support locally......

Thank you for starting this thread. After following the last one in regard to Billy Graham I was beginning to be disinheartened that people who would post to a Christian thread had no idea what it meant to be a Christian.

I have been a Christian for 24 years. My life before Christ was a useless, wasteful search for meaning.

I love nursing because Christ has called me to it. Without Christ I would be one of those nurses who watch the clock and/or call in all the time because they have the "Monday" flu. (Yes, I am a bit bitter and am praying for more love for these lost ones I work with and for christ to take away the bitterness.)

Please, pray for me right now. I am working two full time jobs until my husband finds a job. He has been out of work since last May.

I love this allnurses site. But, I was wondering if any of you knew of a christian nurses site also.

I understand exactly where you are coming from. This past year has been hard on me and my husband. He lost his job last April and hasn't had anything since. I have been working more hours at my current job to pay the bills. I lost my first pregnancy in November and have been having problems ever since. But through it all, even though I don't deserve it, GOD has blessed me. Today is my 26th birthday and I praise Him for everything!!! GOD is good all the time so please know that HE knows your heart and HE never gives us more than we can bare. The trials are all part of HIS to make us better women and better children of GOD!! :angel2:

I'm glad for this thread too, I read all the negativity about being a nurse and everyday get closer to backing out before school starts in August!! My husband has told me to stop coming here to read, but I just find lots of the info so interesting that I keep coming back! It's nice to know that there are some Christian nurses that are out there, somehow it makes it comforting to know that when I become a nurse (if I do) that I could work with many just like you that are tolerant and share the same beliefs that I do, not that I would have a problem working with anyone else either, it's just nice to have this in common with others. I know that God has really helped me so much in my life that I can't imagine living without Him as a guiding force and comforter!

I am so ready to be a nurse, I have taken all my prerequiste courses but cannot find a nursing school in Los Angeles County without a waiting list. It's been frustrating as I have been on this road for almost 10 years now. It's a long story but 95% of the cause of my long-suffering road was due to circumstances that were not in my hands. I have remained faithful to, what I believe, is my calling, and I continue to pursue my dream. GOD has been faithful in giving me patience and options. If anyone can offer some advice on maybe non-traditional ways of obtaining my nursing degree, I would appreciate it!

First, the title of the thread was "Religion and Nursing" not Christianity and Nursing. Therefore, it was not a "Christian" thread.

Second, the main point of the OP was to "try Christ", as clearly stated in the post. Therefore, the thread was aimed at NonChristians, as most Christians have presumably "Tried Christ".

Third, this is a nonsectarian BB that caters to all. Therefore, anyone can respond to any thread and that should be expected and respected.

Just thought that I would clarify that point.

Well, i'm not posting about Christianity on these threads anymore because all that happens is people get defensive and start arguing. You guys go ahead. I'm looking for somewhere else to share my faith.

This looked like a good one at first glance...

Edited to add....I just noticed you asked for a christian nurses site. Still, this looks like one you may enjoy!

CNM2B---I understand your frustration.....I feel it sometimes too, but don't let that stop you from posting and trying to meet other people that can help you with any questions you have. I have my own personal opinions as to why people get defensive and argue, but it really doesn't matter to me one way or the other. It's kinda like the reason I stay away from the Current Events thread.....I don't agree with a lot that I see posted on there, so I don't go there. I may go to read but don't respond. With a public BB, anyone can respond, so you may just have to ignore what you don't like and focus on what can help you.

I am proud to say I'm a Christrian nurse, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.....PM my anytime, I'm on here often during the day!

    Jennifer
