Children from the "religion of peace", or why we should leave the ME

  1. Now that the Islamic Fundamentalists have 3 turks and possibly 1 US Marine who are sure to face a gruesome death, I feel we should leave that part of the world.

The culture of terrorism and torture is ingrained into the children at a very early age. We will never be able to overcome such an indoctrination program.

In a scene that appears to mimic the murder of Nicholas Berg, a young boy is shown kneeling in front of two boys and a girl who are masked and clothed in the style of the American's Muslim kidnappers.

How incredibly sick and demented indeed.

Just posted about the US Marine... had heard sth. about the three Turks earlier, too. But will leaving truly solve anything? Or make them even more resolved.. "king of the mountain" ?

I agree. Staying just makes them hate us more.

    Dunno, Tweety.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Could they even POSSIBLY hate us MORE ? They've hated us long before we went over there.. hated us enough to come here to materialize their hatred on 9/11.

Will leaving the area lessen a hatred as deep as that? Will they consider themselves victorious and beef up their already exsisting plans to do more damage here and abroad?

Just don't know what to think anymore..........

No, I don't want our troops to be in harm's way any longer than necessary.

    None of us do.

    But............ da** !!!
I just want to wake up and have it all be over.. gone.. *POOF* !!! I want for none of it to have ever happened... "it was all just a nightmare."

    I wish.

    Hate us more?

They cannot hate us more. Thier stated goal is to eradicate us and our culture from the face of the earth. They have said they wioll not stop till they reinstate moslem rule to the face of the earth again...like it ever ruled before. This is truely a battle for our very way of life and our grand childrens and great grandchildrens and all future generations way of life and liberty. If we do not stop now our girls will end up being subjugated and all facets of our lives dictated by a Mullah who decides for us what is riight and wrong. We lose all our freedom that our forefathers faught for and for the frredoms that our soldiers are now fighting for. This is not a war for oil or for overthrowing a dictator anymore... this is a war for our future and all that we hold dear. WE MUST NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO LOSE THIS WAR!!!!

    Dear God,
Thank you for this beautiful world of wonders that so many take for granted. Thank you for the trees, our homes, our friends, clean water, and patient teachers, our vehicles of transportation so we can see new and different places. Thank you for our mistakes --so that we can learn and grow from them.

Please help all of us to love one another and to do everything we do with love. Help us to see ourselves, our family, our friends, our neighbors, and even our enemies through your perfect eyes.

I pray that you enlighten us with your perfect will for our lives and that we live according to your perfect plan.

I pray that I can remember to think of you and serve you in all things that I do.

I pray that in my small corner, as in everyone's small corner, we can each make a positive and definite difference in the lives of the people who know us.

Please give our leaders true wisdom to truly understand what you want conveyed in your word.

Thank you Lord for all good things that I hold precious--my kids, my husband, my friends, my coworkers. Please bless them all.

Not knowing details of your divine plan I pray your will be done.

    AMEN

This is what many of us thought that this war would come to. To think otherwise, was to be extremely niave of the Middle East mindset.

At this point, we either have to resolve to see it to the end - which will involve years/decades of work - or cut our losses, and get out. But if we get out, we set a bad precedent. And if we get out, we can expect to face the problem (in the ME) again in the future.

It will not just go away.

I hear what both sides are saying, and there are solid reasons for both perspectives. But if I had any say in the matter, I would err on the side of history: the Middle East has never been a peaceful place, not since Biblical times, and I think it's incredibly arrogant of us to think we can make peace there. It would literally mean forcing change on an entire culture and remaking it in our own image, and since they believe that's exactly what we're trying to do, they hate our guts for it.

I'll be the first to admit I don't understand a culture which values life so cheaply, especially women's lives and children's lives and the lives of people who have personally done no harm to it. I don't understand, nor do I want to understand, a culture which approves of brutality and shelters people such as Osama bin Laden, who hates us so much that he issued the now-famous fatwa ordering Muslims to kill as many of us as they can, wherever they find us. And that's why I think we need to get the bloody hell out of there---why give them so many convenient targets? We know they hate us, but imposing OUR way of life on them is NOT making it any better, and indeed is endangering us both at home and abroad. Time to cut our losses and bring our troops home, where they may be needed to protect us from further invasions on our own soil. JMHO.

I think they are angry in our interference in their region, not just Iraq. We were the "Great Satan" decades ago. But damned if you do and damned if you don't. I'm all for supporting Israel, so the price is the rest of the region will hate us and terrorize us, and get bold enough to attack us on our own soil.

Why don't we just go in and colonize the entire middle east? j/k No easy answers. But I think going into Iraq was a mistake. Imagine bringing democracy to a region where the only democracy is Israel, and where their children are raised like this. What are we thinking? Even if it was a righteous cause, time to come home now.
