Cheaper Gas and Fuel Friendly Vehicles

  1. Does anyone use E-85 fuel in their vehicle? I found out last night that many cars, suvs, and trucks can use this fuel. E-85 is 85% ethonal and 15% gasoline. It grades at about 105 octane, burns clean, great for the enviornment, and can make your engine last three times longer!!! Your mpg is the same as unleaded. Also, if you use up to 1200 gallons a year you can get a nice tax credit of about $700.00 or more. To find out if your vehicle is fuel friendly all you have to do is look at owners manual under recommended fuel and it will tell you. It will say something like regular unleaded or ethanol. I will post a link to the site where my dh found it. Ford, GM, Chrysler, Dodge and some others have these cars. I drive an 05 taurus and my car is on the list. And the best of all is you could actually make it yourself for about $1.00 per gallon!!!

When we went to Iowa about a month ago, they had this type of gas. We got the same gas mileage, the car seemed to like it (hubby's fussy Buick), and it was cheaper!

Which we had it in our area.
