Cell phones

  1. Can you believe that until a month ago I was a cell phone virgin. I just refused to do it. Until I realized I was relying on Marc's phone so much I broke down. Now I can't get enough of it. Tee hee I even downloaded tetris.
So the good news is he works for the phone company so I got a great deal.

What kind of phone do you have?

I've got a cell phone through Sprint .... love it! I downloaded Tetris too, love that game!! And it keeps me entertained for when I'm having to wait around at places. Text messaging too ..... I'm addicted.

I've had a cell phone for 3 years but am still naive and undereducated about text messaging, camera phones, and all of the features. In addition, I don't really use my phone unless it is an emergency.

I don't have a cell phone yet. I'm thinking seriously about getting one, but all the contract stuff kind of confuses me. (I'm easily confused). I think I'm going to try US Cellular, that seems to be the most reliable among the ones my friends have. Cell phones are so convenient, but I just like the security/reliability of a land line. It'll cost a lot to have both.

I have my contract through Cingular, it is one of the most reliable that we have out here......there is a lot of mountains in this area and a lot of areas that are blocked out but it is one of the most reliable. Hey I even have got so addicted to mobile phones that I have a car phone. It is really nice when you have to call someone when you are on the road and that way you don't get in trouble for using a cell phone. You can drive and talk at the same time and you don't have to have your hands off the steering wheel. I use mine several times.
I need to download the Tetris on my phone. I love that game. I am getting better at using my phone but sometimes I still walk out without it. LOLOLOL

I use Verizon. I use my cell phone for work too and recently had to increase my minutes to 2100/month - can't believe I talk that much! I also have my husband and one son on this phone plan (they have their own phones) and I have been very happy with Verizon.

Have had a cell phone since 1992 (when I did home health) and yes, they were huge back then.

So was I until March...I got a pay-as-you-go phone basically for my friend when her mom was in the hospital; when her mom died she had no need for it and I kept it.

I got one from Target for about $20 and to use it is about $10/month...it works great for the cabin; and just to have in an emergency. But I still like my landphone - it seems to be clearer and I ussually use long distance these days and want clairity.

I have a Trac-Fone, that has some bells and whistles, but I don't need to be playing games or texting or taking photos with my phone! What I like about the TF is that there is no contract; I buy time and then use it. I run out of time, the phone doesn't work. It doesn't cost a lot to keep the phone active, and I've never had a problem with connectivity. I bought it at Sam's Club for maybe $25... I have it whenever I'm in the car, but it's illegal in my state to drive and talk on the cellphone at the same time, so if it rings or if I make a call, I have to pull over.

Ever notice that your thumb gets numb and sore (and it uses up the battery juice) when you play too much phone tetris?

I got my cell phone when I was in college (actually had one before that but only used it for emergencies). I got one in college so I could keep in touch with my parents ...... free long distance and free sprint-to-sprint minutes. The long distance charges on a landline were outrageous unless you had a long distance plan, and even then it wasn't very cheap. Even with phone cards it was expensive. Sprint-to-sprint made it nice because we could talk for however long and it was completely free. And I've been happy with them, so I just kept the service even after graduating.

I keep my earpiece in my ear while I'm driving in case I get a call .... but I won't talk much while I'm driving.

I used to have my Tetris game set on the free play mode .... where you just play forever and go up in levels until you lose. But now I have it set on a game mode where it goes for like 3-4 minutes and you see how many lines you can get in that amount of time. And I just try to beat my record. The other way I would lose track of time and play too much! And yeah, my thumbs would be sore.
