Okay for some reason, it's not taking votes. You're goind to have to confess in words.

i only have dogs as a pet. althought i would not harm a cat, i don't like them.

I prefer cats. My cat can use his litter box and doesn't require me to be home all the time to let him out. I can even leave for a weekend and not worry!

I have had dogs too, but for my current lifestyle cats are more appropriate.

I like cats the best. Dogs are fun, too, but require more time & training than our cat. My daughter wants a dog, but my DH & I aren't up for the responsiblity at this time. Maybe her father will get one for her & keep it at his place...I can only hope!

I prefer cats. I have 3. I sorta got a dog by accident and she runs the entire house. Not being a dog person she is badly trained and poorly behaved but she LOVES ME SO MUCH. I have spoiled her to death and as much as I love her- never again. She needs constant attention from me- worse than living with a 2 year old.

Dogs, definitely. I am very very allergic to cats.

Actually, I'm a bit allergic to dogs, too, but not nearly as much.

Doggies for me! I have a big sweet ole yellow lab! I have always had dogs! I don't dislike cats.... just like dogs better as pets! Love the affection, love tickling his belly, scratching behind the ears..... saying good boy and his tail going crazy wagging!
I love how he protects my children and me!

I used to own a Himalayan cat, but unfortunately I had to have him put to sleep years ago. Now I own a black lab/chocolate lab 3 month old puppy.

It's kittys for me! I love a cat.......I don't have one, but I do love them. I like that they come over to be loved and then go away for a while. They entertain themselves, bathroom themselves and do not slobber. (Had a boxer once! ugh!)

Ah, another kindred spirit! I'm a Registered Veterinary Technicain who is a student nurse.

To stay on topic, I vote both and/or neither. I know it sounds indecisive but I prefer exotics. I have owned dogs and have owned cats. Now I have a finch, a 26g freshwater fish tank, a Bearded Dragon (lizard) and 3 ferrets.

If ya stuck a gun to my had and made me vote, I'd be a cat person.

PS Pollux, PM me please... I'd like to hear from another who has gone from veterinary medicine to human medicine.
