Has anyone ever had to have their car's starter replaced? If so, is it an expensive repair? The reason I ask is because I believe my FORD (yeah, I know all the Ford jokes, thank you very much!) needs a new starter. I can't afford to buy another car right now because of school and work. Not sure if I can work fulltime much longer because of the demands of school. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How old is your Ford?. starters can be replaced relatively easy on older models and witouth too much difficulty on newer models. the cost is generally between 75-300 bucks. I have replaced many starters myself on some of my older cars that I have owned. takes under an hour generally.
