Cable vs. Satellite

  1. Oh, What to do? I had a satellite dish at my other house and every cloudy day or storm it said searching for signal for hours, now I have cable and the HBO stations only work occasionally, I call the station constantly and today am waiting for the repairman again, supposed to put on a booster (whatever that is). Oh what to do? I want to see the sopranos next month.

    . . . . could get you a cable modem . . . which is very fast! :0

You can get on the internet via satellite, but it's way more expensive and I understand it's not as fast.

    Just a thought.

sorry for all of your problems. We have Dish TV costs 75.00/o, but I have no problems with it-of course, we don';t get a lot of rain in So. Calif,

Will be happy to tape the Sopranos and send it to you.

Along with 'Soul Food', 'Queer As Folk', 'Six Feet Under', 'Resurection Blvd'.

Big question, 'will Tony ever get it on with the good Dr.?' I think she fantisizes about him!! (I know I do!! WOW!!!)

We have Dish also...would NEVER go back to the cable company. We lose our signal once in a while, usually for only a few minutes at a time, when we're about to get a really big storm...never had a problem with cloud cover, etc. At least with the satellite, we know if we lose our signal it will come back. With cable, that's always questionable and at the whim of the cable guy If any of your new neighbors have a dish, you may want to ask them what their experience has been -- you may be able to get a much better signal in your new area than where you used to live.

...And I agree. I don't know what I'd do without the Sopranos/Sex and the City/Six Feet Under...

We had Dish. We hated it. It was awful!
Went back to least we can watch a movie without having to pay extra..
or watch local channels without having to pay extra.....

We have the dish now after years of just antenna tv.
We are liking it but I have a hard time finding the channel I like.
I have to search through 100 channels to find sci-fi or whatever.
I wish there was an easier way.
We can't get cable-not available out here.

I think the best part about our dish is that we're on east coast time channels, so when it's 9PM om PA, whatever is on we can watch at 6PM in LA and still get to bed by 10.

I had Dish and I would have it again. I live in Florida and we get thunderstorms all the time so the satellite was out half the time. I switched to cable and wouldn't go back. I get more stations w/ cable and pay less money.

I have both digital cabel and the dish. Had dish network, went to Direct tv cuz DN pissed me off. Now have digital cable cuz i wanted the cable modem. aS far as the tv gos, the dish blows the dc away huge, pic is better, programming is better and cheaper. But i was sick of pokey slow dial ups, can't get dsl cuz WNY is assbackwards and cable was my only choice, could get datellite coinnection but too exspensive.
