Bush's Incompetence Weakens US Abroad

  1. "Katrina proved that America cannot solve its internal problems and is incapable of facing these kinds of natural disasters, so it cannot bring peace and democracy to other parts of the world," wrote an Iranian newspaper, Siyasat-e Ruz, last week.

It's dangerous when governments hostile to us -- especially one in the midst of acquiring nuclear weapons -- sees America as weak and ineffective. Bush's incompetence has serious consequences.

While Bush has said he prefers a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear ambitions, he has refused to rule out attacking Iran's nuclear installations. Even Iranians opposed to the Islamic regime believe their country has a right to peaceful nuclear technology.
Iran is part of the axis of evil, also from the article.

WASHINGTON -- President Bush for the first time took responsibility Tuesday for mistakes in dealing with Hurricane Katrina and suggested that the calamity raised questions about the government's ability to handle both natural disasters and terror attacks.

I am encouraged the President accepted blame for federal governmant incompetence.
I am glad he thanked the countries that offered or gave assistance in our time of need.

I think it shows weakness to dishonestly refuse to admit mistakes.

We can debate this stuff forever. Many feel Clintons 8 yrs of appeasement, ignoring terrorist activities for so long, simply emboldened terroristic groups..and that HIS policies led to the problems today. He has wondered that himself..Sooo...this is really a matter of personal opinion.

Personally I think it is incredible arrogance to believe that the US should have been able to handle everything on its own after the hurricane.
