Buffalo, NY / Toronto, Ont

  1. I just took a business trip to Toronto, Ontario. On the way we took a little unintended detour through Buffalo (we followed signs for about 20 miles to "Peace Bridge"). No thanks to the MSNmap-point directions which told us to follow route whatever and then take "ramp."

We were pleasantly surprised at Buffalo! It was quite an enjoyable little detour. I just loved the housing styles. On one street (I believe it was called Main Street), we saw all different housing styles--from modern to historic to avant-garde. While we didn't intend to see so much of Buffalo, we enjoyed the detour. I know at one point we went right past the Buffalo Zoo. I'm assuming you know where I mean, kewlnurse.

Toronto was beautiful! Such a gleaming, glass city. And so big!! And so expensive!! 15% sales tax (we pay 6% in PA). Definitely making plans to visit Toronto again (with more money in my pockets). We went there to a job fair recruiting nurses in Canada to the US. We surprised to find such a large number of nurses attending the event and even more surprirsed that most of them were non-Canadian born. A lot of Philippine, Jamaican, Ukranian, Asian and other nurses who immigrated to Canada. The USA has been called the 'melting pot' of the world. I think they need to give that title up--at least to Toronto, if not all of Canada.

Too bad you didn't email; me we could of hooked up. Yes buffalo in a pleasant city to view, the zoo blows, and everything else about this area blows, but we do have nice arcitecture. Man if you went by the zoo on your way to toronto you got some really crappy directions. But, you were about 10 minutes away from where i live. next time email me.

Will do, Kewl. We're hoping to go again in May. Yeah, we kinda figured we got really crappy directions. Besides my favorite one that said "Turn onto Ramp" (no exit number), I liked the one that said "Turn onto local roads" (no street names, no idea where to turn).... Won't be using MSN for directions again

Zee--you might try mapquest.com next time for directions. They can be a bit goofy too though.
