Brain teasing riddle

  1. a friend of mine made up this riddle. anybody dare to tackle it? i'll spare you the initial agony and give you a hint right off the bat. the subject is a well known celebrity who probably first became known to you in the late 60's (provided you are old enough to remember them, lol) and he has nothing to do with baseball.

'yankee' i'm not, never was a 'giant', but was excellent playing as a 'dodger'. after a few seasons, i 'retired'. a few years later, the powers that be approached me and asked if i would like to be the 'dodger's' 'manager'. of course i said 'yes', and after some 'practice', i took over as 'manager', and as we started out on a road trip, i was told that, because of my 'expertise as a player', there was not an empty seat anywhere we went...

i'll check back later and see how you did. :d

LOL, Night Owl. Oh yes, those teeny bopper idols...and the magazines that told all about them? Tiger Beat et al. One of my 7th grade friends was nutso over...god I can hardly type this without gagging...Donny Osmond.

I don't even remember what grade I was in 1967!! I remember it was a VERY good summer, though.

*sigh* Davy Jones. I can't think of Davy Jones without getting sad. I obviously have problems "letting go" of grief work. A friend of mine co-wrote most of the songs for the Monkees and he and Davy were pretty good friends. Really good friends.

He (my friend, NOT Davy Jones) committed suicide when I was in nursing school. I got semi-depressed after enjoying the movie Shrek, because the ending song was one my friend had written.

Ah well. Davy Jones really was cute!

    Love
