Boy, is my kid going to have a shiner....

  1. Boy, is my 14 y/o going to have a shiner....he fell on a patch of ice today and landed right on his left eye. Cut his eyelid up really good and his brow area and his cheekbone are getting darker by the minute. Took him into the ER for a "curbside" consult. ER doc said that they couldn't even use Dermabond on it. Said to clean it with H20 and soap and apply some bacitracin ointment. My kid says he has a whopper headache and I can see why!!

    The joys of raising boys.....

and keeping them in once piece.....

Poor kid. That must hurt like heck!

On the bright side, they love to show off to their friends with various bruises and scars, so once he feels better he'll probably be the envy of all the other neighborhood boys!

Glad there were no broken bones! Hope he feels better soon.

Nah, didn't hurt his pride any. Just got him out of helping with the evening milking chores...hasn't affected his appetite though. He is still eating like there is no tomorrow!!!

Ouch! Not surprised his appetite hasn't suffered!

My 9 yr old came home couple a days ago with a big bruise/reddened area right on his zygomatic bone (yes, I'm showing off) I asked him what happened and he said he had no idea. I was like, "you mean you get whopped upside the face, and don't even remember it? BOYS!

My kiddo has a huge goose-egg on his forehead where I (accidentally) pegged him with a baseball when we were practicing catching. Actually he just moved his glove at the last second, but he says "mom! that was a bad throw!" I was so proud of him though, because he didn't even cry... he just said "I'm gonna shake it off"

    I felt bad though...

It's amazing we survive childhood isn't it. (It's a wonder our moms survive our childhood.) Glad he's o.k.

Oh, I'm sorry. Give him a kiss from all his All-Nurses aunties. Course he'll probably hate us for the kiss but that's ok. LOL
