Bowling for Columbine

  1. Anyone seen this movie yet? It's quite thought provoking and worth the price of admission, in MHO.

It's just being released here, I saw a couple of interviews with Michael Moore, and a trailer or two. Can't wait! Is it true that C Heston claimed Alzheimers in mitigation after his splenetic contribution?
    Love the Sig line!

Yeah, ol' Chuck tried to bail by taking the afflicted codger plea. I think you will really enjoy the movie. The scariest part to me was that Marilyn Manson was the most articulate and sane interviewee of the bunch! You'll have to give me your impression of it after you see it.

oh...and ty for the sig compliment. Ain't it the truth?

It was good...mind boggling, really. It makes you wonder what it is about Americans that makes us so fearful.

Loved it. Also enjoyed"Stupid white men", his latest book.

I am so bummed out! I went to the movie theater website, and they dumped this off already! I think it was there all of a week. Grrr....I hate living in the sticks...

That's terrible! I bet it won't be long before it is out on VHS/DVD. Maybe you could get the book?

I will have to read Stupid White Men. I am sure I 'd like it.

I love the way he did the movie by keeping it as light as possible while documenting such a serious subject so well. I can see why it won awards.

I'm going to have to get the book. We prob won't get it here for about five years as I live in the sticks. We just started getting DVD's in selective movie stores not too long ago!

I saw "Bowling For Columbine" a couple weeks ago. The Marilyn Manson interview was indeed surprising.

Overall, I would say the movie begins great. Your interest might wane as it progresses. Near the end the scene with the K-Mart representatives was much too long.

This movie will appeal to many people but not everyone. It does not offer the excitement to sustain interest week after week. If the film quickly disappears from theaters in your area, then you know why.

The actual Columbine footage is very poor. One can only wonder why the school would own such antiquated video equipment. The free-after-rebate home webcam could do a better job than those library security cameras.

So, should you see it? Yes, but go during the matinee to save money. It is not worth paying the extra charge for an evening performance. This movie is good, but I would not categorize as outstanding.

I don't believe they used much of a budget on the movie. You are right...if you are looking for quality cinematography, it isn't for you. I was more impressed with how it made you think of the the situation America has ot itself into after the film stopped rolling. This message really hadn't been delivered and I am glad Moore had the guts to do it.
