Bombs in Paradise

  1. Tried to post a news thingy but am inebriated at the moment, my BIL left today to go over, SIL is here, we're getting pissed in the good old Aussie tradition. Two bombs went off in Bali today, people are missing, one of them is a good friend, since primary school.
www.news.com.au Has the full story, at last guesstimate they said about 200 are involved, a lot of Aussies.

Thank you for your kind thoughts, my friend turned up. She rang her mum today, she's an RN so went straight to the hospital. The canditions are apalling, little peth, few bandages, not at all set up for things like this. It's a tourist place, who'd guess?
We're supposedly looking at defence of major public buildings and power stations but who of thought of Bali???
A lot of the footy teams were over there for their end of season fling, one team lost SIX players!! God it is all getting too much isn't it? So many lives now lost and for what? Nothing, just hatred of a group of people that happen to not believe what they believe. Religon , just a waste.

Thoughts and prayers for the Aussies. I can't help but wonder if the purpose of the ongoing terrorism isn't meant to piss off the whole world eventually. An us against them mentality. Bali is certainly not an American target.
Hope things get better, and hugs to you.

As Australians bore the brunt of this atrocity, it may have been Indonesian nationalists revenging themselves for Australia's intervention to support East Timor's independence. Whatever the reason, it's another sad day for humanity.

    Hello All,
I`m sorry to report that a colleague in work was a member of the footy club that lost 6 players on the blast in Bali, he had to leave early yesterday when he found out.... could`nt stay.... totally understandable.... This certainly brings thing home to roost. Bali for god's sake.... an idillic island paradise... all it shows is that they are purely trying to create terror.... not hit any infrastructure.... not conduct a military operation.... they just want to kill ordinary people... the more the better.... sorry if this does'nt make much sense... I`m half cut..... (pissed) and we lost a senior member of the Mental Health Nursing community in Oz yesterday... gunned down in the back... no-one knows why..
Finally as a political comment, I think President Bush won`t be happy about this new bomb.... it means he`ll have to focus his attention on getting the REAL terrorists Bin Laden and his cronies... and stop chasing oil in Iraq......
    regards Stuart
P.S. Sorry if I`ve offended anyone... but it has'nt been a good couple of day's.
