Bob Saget should be ashamed of himself! I think I'm going to complain....

  1. I'm watching "The View" and they were having a very serious conversation about how people who survived the holocaust or whose families were murdered during the holocaust and cannot forgive the Nazi's who perpetrated these crimes. I had family who was murdered during the holocaust and can honestly say I don't know whether or not I could or would forgive but that's really neither here nor there. Please don't start up that debate here. The point of this post is:

Bob Saget comes out and says "I was really traumatized coming out here, I was attacted by a Nazi baby and I'm not forgiving it". What kind of a crappy thing was that to say on TV??? Bob you're an insensitive idiot! :angryfire

Do you mean what he said is so stupid you don't know what it means???

I don't either. If he had said I was attacked by a baby it would still be absolutely stupid but why say a Nazi baby? Ignorant.

I did write to complain to The View. Probably won't ever hear anything back but then again I once complained to Dr. Phil and he, Dr. Phil called me personally. Cool eh?

    Yes. Absolutely no clue.

Yeah, I don't understand the context of the comment at all.

That makes 3 of us. That comment makes no sense at all. The co-hosts looked at him like what? And he said "I think it was trying feed off of me or something"? Really strange.........!

As my kids would say upon hearing such an idiotic comment: Uhhhhhhh........DUDE?? Clue phone!!

Sounds like he was trying to make a "funny", and no one got it. Can we say "inappropriate"??

To me, I think he was trivializing the personal decision of forgiving. By saying he can't forgive a baby, well, who can do that?

I dunno. I'm quite perplexed at his comment. I never use the Holocaust in jokes or listen to those that do. IMO, if you have something cruel and rude to say, don't try to spin it or make it seem like a positive comment when it isn't. Don't try to confuse me.

I think I read in Germany that it is illegal to say the Holocaust never happened or to make jokes about it.

    What's a "clue phone"?

Is it one of those teenager expressions like I heard a coworker tell another last night: "you are such a Lopez"? Huh? I need a dictionary of idiotic expressions and their meanings.

Bob Saget's one of them. Anyone remember when he hosted "AFV" or when he did stand-up? His "jokes" were odd or just plain NOT funny. "The View" one included.

He was probably attempting to get a few laughs and actually thought he was being comical by saying what he said, but the comment was still horridly distasteful.
