Blood type diet??

  1. has anyone ever heard of this or has anyone actually followed the guidelines?? does it work??? or is it hype??? sounds interesting enough but according to the b type~ nuts, wheats, and tomatoes are out the window for me...
    just like all diets, the things i love have to go.

    and here's an interesting calorie counter...i have been calculating my food for the day on this for a while, doing pretty well. has many options on it including counting your daily caloric intake and subtracting everday chores and exercise from the total. pretty neat...

    That book surfaced a year or two ago. I don't think that any of it is based on research of any kind. It was just another 'diet craze' book to hit the market.

    Premise: The author, Dr. D'Adamo, claims that each blood type has its own unique antigen marker that reacts in negative ways with certain foods, and individuals have varying levels of stomach acidity and digestive enzymes that seem to correlate with blood type. This diet provides a detailed list of foods to eat or avoid, depending on your blood type.

    Facts: Although you may find it comforting to have a list of foods to eat or avoid, there's no scientific evidence that diets should be based on blood type.
