black wings of death?!

  1. This morning i was reading the article in the paper (Boston Herald) about the Madrid bombing and halfway through the article it mentioned something about how al-Qaeda is planing some attack on America called "the black wings of death" [something like that] and it was "90% done." Has anyone else heard/read anything about this???? It sounds really important, but it hasn't been on the news or anything, just mentioned in the madrid article.

I heard on the news that Al Queda claimed full responsibility for the Madrid tradgedy and also said that they have a major attack planned for the US that is ready to be executed. I didn't hear it called the black wings of death.

Scares the $@%# out of me.

Another thing to worry about. Just what we need, isn't it? :angryfire I didn't hear about it, but then again, I've been working 12's and I rarely hear anything when I'm working. Time stops for 3 days, then I have to come and catch up again. I hope our intelligence doesn't fail the american people now, and that whatever al-quida's sick plot is, it is known to officials and can be stopped. We don't need any more death and destruction.

One more question....if we had Osama's money locked, and we are tracking terrorist groups and their use of $$, where are all the funds for these events coming from???

    AL QAEDA CLAIMS BOMBINGS

A group claiming to be acting in the name of al Qaeda says it was behind yesterday's devastating Madrid train bombings, which killed at least 192 people and injured 1,200 others.

An email to the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper said the Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri was responsible for the worst terrorist attack on a European city since the second world war.

It also warned that a "big attack" on the US was "90% ready".

"The death squad (of the Abu Hafs Al-Masri Brigades) succeeded in penetrating the crusader European depths and striking one of the pillars of the crusader alliance - Spain - with a painful blow," the email said.

"We bring the good news to Muslims of the world that the expected 'Winds of Black Death' strike against America is now in its final stage...90 % (ready) and God willing near

Why do they hate us and why doesn't someone address that problem??? I'm not asking USA to take the blame for being a victim, just feel we need to find more ways than bombs to fight terrorism.

I'm sorry but I think they have us right where they want us, living in fear...whether they will bomb or not. They want us to hide and live in fear. And I think we should take precautions but not hide in fear. Just because their country is so screwed up that they live in fear because they can't get their crap together, they want every other country to do so.

You should realize this group is not AlQaeda, they claim to act for al qaeda. And they took credit for last summer's power outage as well. They have a history of claiming responsibility for things they didn't do.

Respectfully, I don't understand your post. These nuts want to kill you and me. Spain has now suffered terribly. The culprits need to be weeded out and eliminated.

Agree. Shoot first, ask questions later. :stone Too much at stake. Too many innocent lives.

This article explains alot about why we need to have a broader range of options for dealing with terrorism other than more bombs and guns. This paragraph sent a cold feeling down my spine:

The question now, though, is whether that giant American fist has effectively smashed down on a blob of mercury, sending it in myriad directions and making it all but untraceable. NEWSWEEK has learned that the last Orange terror alert in December--triggered by hijacking threats to foreign airliners heading to America--was based on what appears to be bad information. No arrests or detentions have been made, and no leads remain open. U.S. officials say that, even in the wake of Madrid, the level of intelligence "chatter" about an attack on the continental United States remains low; but if it was "high" in December, does today's lack of intel mean anything? A former senior counterterrorism official in the Bush administration points out that "there have been more major terror attacks in the 30 months since 9/11 than in the 30 months before. I think we may have cut off Al Qaeda's head, but the rest of the body is working fine and has spawned 10 more smaller heads."

It is so scary to think about another attack on America. Friday night I took my boyfriend's 13 year old little sister to a Celtics game in Boston, and after the game we were planning to take the train home, but she was scared the train would get bombed like the one in Spain so we walked home. AND at the end of the month my boyfriend is getting deployed to either Iraq or Afghaistan for at least one year. but don't worry guys, he said he won't come home until he finds bin laden
