Black Friday Nov 23, 2007

  1. Happy Early Morning All. Dh wants to get up "early" and go shopping. Are you crazy? Last year he stood outside in the snow for 2 hours before the store even opened at 5:00am. Froze his gonads off. Did ya forget that fella?! Yep he had...so I agreed to go with him at 8:00 am. No snow this year but it is cold.

The local radio station started playing all Christmas music today and will continue through January 1st. I just love Christmas music.

We enjoyed Turkey Day, being with the family and esp the grandbabies.

    Good morning Dutch!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving with your grandsons.

Got all my Christmas shopping for my nieces. Emma and Kennedy turn 3 on the first. I got them a Dora ball pit: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2402627

I wish I was little enough to play in it!

Also, Dora doll that's bigger than them, a Dora tent, and lots of puzzles. Now I just have to pick out what they get for their birthday vs Christmas. Addison and Molly got some learning toys and a tube you can crawl through.

Kennedy called me and asked me to go to McDonald's with her and Emma for my birthday. Of course I accepted. I got two gorgeous, fun dates for my birthday! It'll make turning 28 easier.

I'm thinking of going to Target in the am. They have iPod alarms for $30. Reg $60.

We're doing Thanksgiving today since I had to work. SIL is not coming - she's going shopping. Fine by me, she's the reason I drink at these things.

Dutchgirl-If I ever get the hankering to go shopping the morning of Black Friday, all of you have permission to :trout: me. Hope you and dh have fun.

Diary-Glad you and your friends had fun. One of my friends decided to make a turkey for all of her transplanted friends the first year she lived in Chicago. Let's just say she learned (what not to do, that is) on the fly.

Di-See my above note to Dutchgirl and double it for your sons. Dh works tomorrow too. I'll be thinking of him and you.

Ds and I are headed to Phipp's Conservatory to see the glass exhibition.

We reserved spots for noon. We're meeting up with my brother and sister and their respective families. Db is in from Rochester and it will be good to spend time with him. We were going to meet up with dh's family to shop in the Strip District, but it's going to be too cold.

Other than that, just some housework and laundry to get ready for work on Sat/Sun.

    Happy Friday!

Bethin-You sneaked in on me. Have fun with your fam at your Thanksgiving celebration. I'm glad ours is over. Ds reached his breaking/meltdown point around 20:00 and mine was at about 20:05. Have a drink tomorrow and think of me.

    That's my mom - she's making 4 pies for 5 adults and 2 toddlers.

Good point. Although I bet Dutch wishes he still had them.

I'm going to try that link for the ball pit again. Didn't work last time:

    Yep, you have a point......!

Ds works at Circuit City and has to be at work at 4 am. I saw on CNN that people are already camping out in front of Best Buy.

Yeah, it took me 10 mins to post d/t this incredibly slow dial up. I hate staying with my parents for that reason.

I did get my toenails painted in that time though.

You probably won't find this funny, but I find tantrums hysterical. Course, I have no kids so I can laugh. I've laughed at my nieces before and they stop and give me that look of 'how dare you laugh at me in my time of crisis!'

    That's desperate.

Money means alot to me and I love saving it, but not enough to get up at midnight to wait in a cold line, amidst screaming kids, and robot shoppers making a beeline to that deal. There's just no holiday spirit when you're standing there in line screaming inside your head vowing never to do it again.
