Bittersweet Part II - Who Is Staying - page 4

Not to get into an attitude of us against those who are leaving. Because I totally respect anyone's decisions and I will bitterly miss those who choose to leave. But, for whatever reason I... Read More

    Uhhh, and I'll be staying, too. I was on vacation while the "Annoying Member" thread was going on, so I don't know who was on it, and frankly, I don't care. If I want sophomoric B.S., I can go hang out at work. There are way too many valuable BB's on this site that I find worthy of a good read, and many, many intelligent and articulate nurses here. This is a great site, and not only because of the posters- it's also because of the moderators, as well as the owner of the site. And after reading some of the post-drama BB's, I think that maybe Sjoe is right- we all need to read that book about aggression/bullying in girls. He/She may just have something there.

    I like this BB and will continue to be on board.

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
    But make allowance for their doubting too,
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
    If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
    If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much,
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

    I am still here - (not that i post very often) and was here when the problems were taking place - and i didn't even realise! I have a quick glance at the topics and only visit specific ones that catch my attention. On the whole i have found this BB a very supportive and informative place to visit with many very professional nurses. Like any place I take the good with the bad and ride out the waves, but most importantly I keep the fact that to me it is ONLY the internet, and if i don't like what i see then a new site is only a few seconds away.
    Anyway... i like this place and I will be staying.
    Hope you all are having a good day

    This statement probably sums up my feelings best about the recent events here. I've been dealing with computer problems the past two weeks that more often than not, keep me from posting replies, so I generally can only lurk here-- I never know if I'll be able to actually post a comment-- like now!

    I think that both sides share some blame for all that's occured; I just wish none of it had to happen and I will miss any posters who decide to go. I'm not particularly emotionally involved here, and am not as affected by the goings-on as some were, but I empathize with those who were. I will stay because I continue to get a lot out of this BB, and hope I'll be able to contribute... if my computer allows.

    I haven't decided yet. I am still to upset about what has happened. I think about it more when my head has cleared.

    Although I am deeply saddened by the recent events here. I will continue to visit and post occasionally! This place has been a great source of information for me, as well as a great place for me to unwind after a long day at work and school. I have met some really great people and have cultivated some really great cyber friendships.

    I will sincerely miss those who have decided to leave us!

    Wow, Furball, that is beautiful. And Betts, I really want to thank you too. Both of those poems really touched me today.

    I choose to stay.

    I'm staying on for the long haul.
    In fact, I'll make the potato salad and the meat/cheese tray.

    But one thing though....if I stay, can I please change my Member Status Line??? (sorree, can't let it go!)

    I'm pretty clueless as to what has caused all the hard feelings. So, I have no reason to leave.

    i like these boards for too many reasons, so i won't be going anywhere. though i participated in a few of the unsavory and sometimes hurtful threads, i agree the rules needed to be reinforced for the betterment of these boards for everyone.

    i hope and believe that some of the members who are choosing to not participate in boards of late, decide to come back when the anger subsides, as their contributions to the board were valuable.

    this reminds me of when there are administration changes at work that are meant to be positive, but some of the employees decide just the opposite and leave. i know i am not indespensible to the success of these boards anymore than i am as a nurse on my unit and new members will always be coming along in place of those that choose to leave. we have experienced a bit of ashake up lately, but the change was a needed one. i look forward to a very long relationship with allnurses.
    i couldn't have said it better sbic56, only been here since jan. and i will continue hanging out here.

    I'm not leaving. Don't know what happened exactly, so I guess I wasn't involved in it, but feel bad for those who were.
