birdie tv

  1. I'm spending a few days out in the country at my parents' home with my furbabies. It's been a wonderful relaxing time. The kitties are city apartment cats that have never been able to hunt and roam freely outdoors and they're having the time of their lives just watching the birds out the window. So entertaining.

There's a breeding pair of baltimore orioles that hang out at the hummingbird feeder. Dozens and dozens of yellow finches and their women flitting back and forth from feeder to feeder. Not to mention bluejays, backbirds, mourning doves, one bright red birdie that I haven't yet identified, lots of little sparrows and grey and brwon squirrels that chase them all away.

    Must See TV Monday.

    Happy Victoria Day y'all

Have the cats started making that funny noise in their throats? Like, "if I could get to you, you'd be toast?"

My girl thinks everything is a toy--one of the bracts from the bougainvilla was blowing around the patio door, she was glued to the glass for a while.... I never said she was a brain surgeon!

It's funny, Rufus chatters when he sees the big squirrels and bluejays. Makes a weird sound in his throat I guess. Oh how he'd love to catch one of those. Not gonna happen.

    I'm such a city slicker.

I've jusr figured out that the red birdies are scarlet tanagers. Very pretty. The orioles just keep drinking and drinking from the hummingbird feeder. Must love sugar. No actual hummingbirds though.

My cat used to chase the bluejays until they started dive-bombing her. A few pecks later and she was back to chasing bunnies!
