Bill Gates, OBL, Bill Clinton

  1. This one has been around for a while, and I'm not sure if it's been here before or not... Thought I'd throw it out there for us to all chew on and debate a bit...
DISCLAIMER: this in no way reflects my own personal views, which most of you know, anyway. I just thought it would be interesting to debate a bit over this one.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible! would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today.

And, now that Bush is taking action to bring these people to justice, we have opponents charging him with being a war monger...

    AN INTERESTING QUESTION:
This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question:

There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the past eight years than Osama bin Laden?

    THINK ABOUT IT!

It is a strange turn of events.
Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir.
Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written.
This from two people who have spent the past 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath!

Yes, it is all Clinton's fault like everything else in the world. I notice Bush hasn't been able to get OBL either. The whole blame game is quite old and completely unproductive coming from either angle. I am sick of people blaming Bush sr. or Rumsfeld or Reagan for SH and just as sick of hearing Clinton is to blame for OBL. Both points of view completely ignore the context of the time.

I completely agree, in fact I blame Bill Clinton for my hangnail. And the snow storm back East is his fault also. And had he really been on top of his game I wouldn't have to wax my eyebrows so often.

I'm pretty sure it's that SOB Clinton's fault that my car needed an expensive brake repair last month. And, um, that my plants aren't doing very well. And that my next door neighbor is such a freak. Damn him.

I blame it all on Adam for eating the apple.

    Um, Adam? Eve, too.

Geeez, they just can't leave poor ole Bill alone can they? He's been out of office for how long now, and they're STILL talking about him on Leno, Letterman, the radio, and allnurses! And why? Just because he got some puntang from an ugly bimbo in the oval office? Poor Bill.....

Well, now I'm glad to know Clinton's to blame for my troubles with keeping the Christmas poinsettia alive. Of course, my family enjoyed eight years of prosperity and peace under his watch, which we must not have deserved because we've struggled with stagnating wages and unemployment ever since he left office. But what the hell do I know........

Don't you know? It was Pappy Bush that laid the groundwork for those 8 years that Clinton was in office. Those 8 years of prosperity was Pappy Bush's doing and Clinton messed it all up and it's now coming to fruition now that he has been out of office. Never mind that the stock market started plummeting shortly after Sonny Bush took office showing an obvious lack of investor confidence in the new Presidency and this whole issue of terrorists came about because Clinton "weakened the military" and did not one thing with international diplomacy while he was in office, oh no!! In 2004 when our 401k's have completely disintegrated Clinton will still be blamed.

I think it's pretty impressive that he is so incredibly powerful long after he left office. Kinda sexy too, in my opinion.

Seriously, I have much more respect for a president that came from humble beginnings and has more in touch with the poor and middle class, minorities and world diplomacy than someone who clearly never has and never will.

And that's all I have to say about THAT.
